I'm moving to Kilkenny City in April after living in London for 18 years
What is the cost of living? What bills would I need to pay & how much they would be for a 2 bed apartment. Ive checked Daft.ie so I know roughly what rent would be

Kilkenny is very expensive, I reckon so at any rate. Rents have risen a lot in the past few years, I'd say min €600-650 for any two bed reasonable apt per month.
It's more expensive than other peer towns and cities and lacks many of the cheap shops like Dealz and the like other places have.

You pay for rent, electric bills and refuse bins. Add TV and broadband.

That's like moving from the Taj Mahal to a shanty town. When you've factored rent and bills into the equation then add the cost of your valium prescription. You're gonna need it.

    approx idea of bills

rent - 600-800 a month but depends on what you go for.
ESB - 40 a month over the year
GAS - 30 a month over the year
Water Changes - haven't been set yet but are coming in
BIN - some where around 300 a year.
    TV license - 165 or 185 a year think
food - varies for people e.g. 50 a week is loads but if you eat out alot 100 a week or more.
entertainment - as above... drink can be expensive
car/insurance/tax/petrol/public transport - depends on what your mode of transport is.

Don't forget the Brian Coady Clause for living in Kilkenny, he gets to come into your house once a year and have a root around.

we pay £121 just on council tax over in London & that's for a 1 bed flat so will be paying less than what we are here. bills & rent come to probably £1200 a month

If you move out of Kilkenny you'll probably rent a house for the price of a flat.
