Hi, not sure if this is in the right area but...

I was getting the ferry from holyhead to dublin recently and customs/security on the UK side opened the bonnet of the car and had a good look inside with a torch. They only glanced into the boot and rear of the car. Irish audi a5, native irish driver.

    Any ideas????????????

    Whats the question?

Why would they examine the engine thoroughly and barely give the far bigger spaces in the car a glance?

Perhaps they wished to check the VIN to see if it was stolen or had false plates. .

Probably checking for drugs. Ireland is often used as a smuggling route for the bringing cocaine into the uk and Europe.
