Charger for kids electric car

Hi I'm looking for a charger for kids electic car. I'll add photos of battery and charger connection.

Looks like a 6v battery, can't find a listing online, does the old charger have a rating?
Any standard motorbike/6v house alarm charger with a sealed battery setting will work for that battery. I'd use the battery terminals to connect the charger to, not the charge lead you've shown as it's non-standard. Once you confirm it's 6v.

All you need is a 6v lead acid battery charger > ~700mA, with a charge termination voltage of 7.2v.
If you shop around you'll find cheaper sources than Maplins.

Lidl and Aldi do 6v/12v chargers every so often, they're not great but they work ok you just have to disconnect them after after they float or they'll overcharge.

Yes it's 6v. Thanks for that info do you think halfords would have a charger?
Do you mean connect charger to the little red/black knobs on top of battery instead?
I don't have original charger got the car free from neighbour and they can't find charger.
Also do you know if it needs to be stored indoors all the time or will it survive a little bit of rain?

Hardly worth that price though if you ask me, the Ctek is 3 times a better charger. The only Ctek chargers in halfords are 12v versions.

Yeah stick the charger straight onto the battery posts (red/black knobs), standard procedure really, maybe disconnect the car electrics first if you prefer to be cautious but they ought to be able to take a boosted charging voltage.

I've no idea if it's suitable for outdoor storage. Maybe check online for a manual or documentation I guess.

You may have to replace the battery too by the way. If it's been sitting flat for a few month's it's probably highly deteriorated from sulphation as all lead acids do when left in a discharged state and likely won't take a charge. Maplins probably have a suitable replacement available. It's a 7Ah VRLA (7 amp hour, valve regulated lead acid). Should be about €30.
You could also try wherever people get their house alarm batteries replaced or Radionics & Farnell.

Re: being outside, it'd probably fair ok under a tarp. it'd be oxidation of the electrics I'd be concerned about more than anything else.

As regards a battery, anything you can fit in the battery box that's 6Ah+ would suffice, maybe even less, it'd just run out of charge sooner.
For the charger; usually work to 10% charge rate of the battery. Eg. A 700mA charger for a 7Ah battery. Lower is ok it just takes longer to charge I wouldn't go higher than 15%. No need to get exact replacements though.
