Windows DVD maker help

I am burning a DVD disc on my computer and I want it in 16:9 aspect ratio. I changed the ratio from 4:9 ratio to 16:9 ratio and pressed ok. When playing it on DVD player, it still comes out 4:3 instead of 16:9, although I changed it. Any idea?
