Hi we need to set up tv and internet in a rented home between a mix of people.

Dont need a phone nor want one.

What's the best deal out there with unlimited internet and tv package?
    Basic is grand.

    Thanks!

Not evision anyway that's an 18 month contract as a min. I would go with sky personally as horizon seems to be causing a lot of trouble

evision is missing rather a lot of channels and cannot go above ~80mbit in the medium term, with TV usage impacting on broadband speeds. You also need to be in VDSL coverage.

Sky offers the largest amount of channels but ties broadband to call packages and cannot currently go above 24mbit; they will likely offer VDSL in future and be able to reach 100mbit for a very limited subset of customers.

UPC have limited coverage, currently offer 200mbit broadband and their current technology allows 400mbit; have less channels than Sky but an awful lot less absolute of the dross.

If you can get UPC Broadband, then they are best for Broadband.

A UPC BB + TV bundle is quiet good, the TV service isn't quiet as good as Sky, but probably good enough for most people and a good saving to be made.

For instance UPC 50mb/s BB + Digital+ TV €60 or
    UPC 120mb/s BB + Horizon TV €73

If you can't get UPC BB, then Vodafone "upto" 70mb/s is very good value for money at €35, then combine that with a Sky subscription (starting at €28)

I wouldn't bother with Eircom eFibre or eVision, you are paying a lot for less quality service.

Really it all depends on what you can get where you are living and what your priorities are (Broadband, TV).

We already have a basic sky pack but are thinking of moving to eVision.

We have eircom efibre, phone and mobiles. Just wondering what is the difference with the sports packs on offer apart from the price.
It is €30 for Sky sport 1 & 2 and €16 for Setanta and BT sport 1 and 2 and ESPN.
I have heard BT Sport and Setanta show a good few soccer games now which is what we want for a child (with SN) who lives for sport.
