Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Shocking how they are 6th favourites with the bookies.

Given that they have have never won a major international tournament it is quite appropriate.

For anyone who wants to watch Holland play Wales its on S4C and BBC2 Wales.

Is BBC2 Wales in Welsh as well?

Such an annoying language to listen to with the random English words thrown in

It'll never happen, but does anyone think England may be better served dropping Rooney? It might allow them to play with more balance and take advantage of being able to start their more in-form, fitter players.

I'd drop him myself. Not the same player these days and never lived up to the hype or promise he showed as a youngster

The England team sheet tonight also contained their passport numbers, strange one.

If they any world class players coming through it would be a easy decision but they don't so they will stock with him. I still can't believe Utd gave him 300,000 a week. Crazy.

Was excellent first half of season just unfit at the minute

For me there best chance of doing well involves Rooney playing well

Balotelli's playing very well so far, Luxembourg look poor

Ecuador don't look any great shakes but England on the front foot.

As soon as I post that Ecuador score!

    Not great from Shaw.

    Ha ha Smalling is rubbish

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

I wouldn't rate Smalling or Jones particularly highly, especially as a centre back pairing. Personally I never understood the hype surrounding that partnership.

    Woeful anticipation from Smalling there

It's the England second string defence so the wake up call will hopefully do them good.

    Lovely from Barkley.

Lovely cheeky backheel to let Rooney in there, poor enough effort from him though.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

    Smalling having a 'mare.

Someone in here tried to say during the last game that he should be first choice lol

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,116 ✭✭✭Professional Griefer

Neither of those cms should be starting at the WC.

    Mrs Smalling the username?

Decent game so far, end to end.

Barkley and Oxlade-Chamberlain have stood out so far.

Forget about Wilshere being the great hope for English football.

Barkley is miles ahead of him.

Bit odd that someone like Curtis Davies didn't make the squad given the season he had for Hull instead of Smalling.
The only positive is he offers cover at right back.

The same Barkley who has butched 3 great opportunities?

Barkley, Ox and Sterling will be a breath of fresh air for England at the tournament.
Their freshness and attacking enthusiasm could have a similar impact to Germany bringing in Ozil & Muller before the last World Cup.

Some miss by Lambert, glad we have Rooney instead.

Thought that wasn't going in :pac:

Should have been a free out for handball I think though.

Probably should have, but I doubt Shaw will play much, if at all, with Baines starting every game anyway.

    What hype?

After the under 21 tournament they were hyped to the moon, especially after it became clear that they would also be playing for the same club. Any time they play together at the heart of the Man Utd defence you will almost inevitably hear the commentator say "you may be looking at the long term defensive partnership for Man Utd and England." On the evidence of tonight, and any other time they have played at centre back, I think it's safe to say that wont be the case.
