Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Flanno! for Ox-Cham, Sterling on, Stones on as well.

You wouldn't think Rooney only needs 9 more goals to be England's top goal scorer of all time

Never fulfilled his promise as a teenager though according to some

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Milner still on the pitch :(

The two stand out players on the pitch.

if welbeck gets picked ahead of Ox, there ain't no justice in the world.

    Comical.

Ecuador butchered that chance. Should have been 2-2.

England's defense will get destroyed at the WC

He hasn't really, Fergie really misused him to let Ronaldo shine, which was right. Not worth the money that Utd are paying him every week.

it's their second string really to be fair but if they get any injuries i'd worry for them.

Such a fashionable thing to say to make people think that they know what they're talking about.

20 goals now this season in a mediocre side and has scored more competitive goals than any player in England's history.

Hes going to become the leading scorer ever at one of the biggest clubs in the world, the leading scorer ever for a big international side, and was one of the focal points of a side that dominated in England and won in Europe, and hes yet to hit 30. Id say he'd have taken that aged 18

    Great finish. Ecuador deserve that.

Poor defending by Milner and Wilshere though.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

Deserved. Ecuador have been dynamic going forward, if a little pedestrian in their defending.

Super Frankie is just about mediocre for England.

    Milner has been utter gash.

I'm going to have to don my GSP cap and say, in relation to Ross Barkley, I'm not impressed. That's not to say I don't think he's played well tonight or that he isn't a talent but, for a number 10 I think that too often he doesn't het the basics right and his influence isn't what it should be.

I'd love to know what GSP stands for lol

    Barkley is still learning btw.

The Ox is a great wee player, I'd start him easily.

Their defensive midfield options are non-existent. Gerrard? Lampard? The better teams will overrun that easily.

    England have faded badly.

You make it sound impressive Hulk, but why do make think he hasn't reached his potential. I like Rooney but he wouldn't be anywhere near a top 20 worlds best and hasn't been for years.

Typical Wilshire, not a nice kind.

Not nice from Sterling. Delighted, off you go.

    Valencia on a mad one.

    Lol Valencia!

Valenica silly billy. Sterling got the ball

    WTF?

    Two reds?

Would be surprising if England don't concede a fair few goals in the World Cup.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,683 ✭✭✭LightningBlue

    Valencia's gone mental. Definite red.
It wasn't that bad of a challenge by Sterling - fair enough it's a week before the World Cup.

Bull**** red card for Sterling. Valencia tried to throttle him afterwards and gets the same punishment.

    Harsh

It was a strong challenge from Sterling but never a red!

Shocking decision, Sterling did nothing. Valencia deserved to go to though

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,536 ✭✭✭Dolph Starbeam

Had to be 2 reds. Stupid challenge by Sterling in a friendly, could easily have badly injured Valencia there.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,428 ✭✭✭.jacksparrow.

How dramatic was the ref there!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

Correct call. Reckless intent from Sterling and stupid from Valencia.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

For once Townsend is right. Valencia going nuts got them both sent off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,216 ✭✭✭Looper007

That's dodgy reffing that. come on.

Valencia you absolute clown. Needlessly getting both players sent off.

Sticking up for his team mate, no harm.

Fecking eejits the two of them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,994 ✭✭✭KingdomYid

It was a very nasty tackle for a friendly game IMO.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,226 ✭✭✭✭J. Marston

Valencia was right to go after the twerp. No need for tackles like that in a nothing match a week before the World Cup.

Now I'm really not impressed, George St. Pierre, UFC fighter.

He's learning and certainly he will improve but I'm not convinced he will ever be the kind of player who can dominate a game over 90 minutes.

    Good run out for Sterling

I enjoyed the way the ref produced those cards. Marvellous.

What are the repercussions of a red in a friendly? I presume won't impact the world cup...will it impact the remaining friendlies in the series?
