Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Not sure about that, But what i'm saying is it's on the sky go app on Ipad.

So it must be available to sky subscribers in someway.

For the record i'm not a sky subscriber but my sister (subscriber to sky) gave me her password details which i use on Ipad.

I'm not near my tv now, but I'm 99% sure I have ITV4 on my Sky "Other Channels".

    So it should be available.

The man just keeps getting faster and better with age. Gerrard should be taking notes.

You'd swear he's some sort of geriatric.

He's only 30. The baldness has made him look old his whole career.

Maybe I missed something, but the lads on RTE were just ****eing on as if this was the first World Cup with 32 competitors. That changed in 1998...

The guy is 4 years younger than Gerrard and has always been fast and his career was built on being fast and skillfull.

Gerrard was never fast even in the prime of his career.

So I'm not really sure what notes Gerrard should be taking.

Rte have exclusive rights. There is no reason why they couldn't put the other game on their RTE News Now Saorview channel. Dzopes.

Probably the bit about not losing that yard of pace and actually improving with time. You know, as I said in my post.

Your post still doesn't make any sense in regarts to Gerrard though! as I pointed out in my full post which you forgot quote fully.

I didn't quote the bits that weren't relevant.

So Robben has always been a speedster? How does that diminish the fact that he's still as fast (if not faster) at 30 than he was 26? How does that take away from the fact that Gerrard* has (and had) lost the pace that used to make his forward runs possible? Does it change the reality that Robben seems to get better with each passing season - how long since anyone could legitimately claim the same about Gerrard*?

*Or any other England player in decline. The comment was less about a specific comparison than it was marvelling at Robben's continued excellence. Gerrard was mentioned because his terminal decline at international level has been so cruelly displayed in Brazil

Averging 2.9 goals a game compared to 2.3 goals a game in 2010.

    http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/statistics/index.html

Is that 2.3 goals per game at the same stage of the competition or overall.

You would imagine that 2.9 will come down as the (better) defence and defensiveness of 'bigger teams' play a bigger role as the knockouts come around.

I don't like or rate Gerrard particularly but this is a ridiculous comparison. Gerrard is 35 and a central midfielder. Robben is 30 and a winger. Five years is a lifetime at the latter stages of a career. If your comment wasn't about a specific comparison then don't use a specific comparison.

Wayne Rooney is a far better comparison to Robben anyway.

Not sure if that holds true, in 2010 the matches from the QF on had a higher goal average than the tournament as a whole: 2.42.

Say Bosnia are snapping the linesman wrongly disallowed that goal against Nigeria.

The last 16 matches so far

Holland vs Mexico ( I reckon this will be a very good match)

Brazil vs Chile ( hope Chile do them over, but think Brazil will pip this)

Columbia vs Uruguay ( this has the potential of been a classic)

Costa Rica vs Greece ( I'm going Rica for this expect this to be a dour match leading to penos)

only two European teams through so far, here's hoping a few more make it.

Boateng was going to retire after the world cup anyways (then shockingly un-retire in 2017). The man doesn't give a sh*t about Ghana and just uses them as a platform to showcase his talent on a world stage. I wouldn't have him in my team if I was the Ghana manager.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,385 ✭✭✭Nerdlingr

Muntari should have been sent home for wearing his shorts half way down his arse anyway.
