Bought a new phone system in jan.

It was priced and agreed in mov and deposit put down on the 2nd of jan.

The rep told me isdn and system would be put in on the same day , round now.

System arrived on Tuesday and when there was no sign of the line for it arriving the rep told me the isdn boxes were on back order since the summer.

So stay away from eircoms business systems for the minute folks unless you want expensive paperweights.

Riveting, probably not. Useful to know if your business requires an ISDN line, yup.

Not sure where you are based but you should look at a VOIP system rather than ISDN

Surely ISDN is obsolete now?, that was the stuff they were using pre broadband. IT was either dial up or ISDN. Unless ISDN is something different now then it was in the pre broadband days.
Eircom are also the most expensive company on the market, they always have been and always will be due to competition regulation. They try and trick you with various minutes offers, packages and what not to make it look cheaper then the competition, but fine print and bottom line is they are the most expensive.

Ahhhhh, you're the McVities rep. :pac:

El Rifle, there's still a few technologies (particularly older hardware based) where ISDN is either more suited, or the only choice.

IIRC the eircom netlink systems can take a VOIP card to allow this functionality

There's definitely lots of alternatives to ISDN now, depends what you're using it for I guess.

Some older PBX systems took/take ISDN in 2-30 line chunks for DDI. Some clients still insist traffic isn't routed over the internet so ISDN may be a backup to a leased line.
