e-pipe cartridge cleaning

Now that I'm getting into vaping I'm thinking of resurrecting my old e-pipe type P1, purchased in 2008. This seems to be the same as the e-pipe 601 that's currently available.
It seems to be working well. The batteries were still charged after 5 years lying idle!
My problem is this. The cartridges are steeped in a nasty "tobacco" liquid. Would it be possible to clean these out, removing all traces of liquid, so that I can fill them with my preferred juice?

If they are the cartridges that look as if they are full of cotton then apparently you can boil them for a while and more than likely boil them again and again to force the flavour out.

Failing that: you can get more on from any of the links below

Here's a pic of a cartridge. Do you mean I should remove the sponge/cotton from the plastic body and boil it? I wonder would I be able to get it back in again.

The pipe is an old model. The atomizer is in the bowl of the pipe, not the cartridge.

As its plastic its probably not a great idea to boil it. No idea how it would handle the temperature.

Maybe just steep them in hot water. Not guaranteed to work completely though.

Turned out to be quite simple: remove wadding from cartridge, rinse with hot water, alcohol, water, dry. Vaping was more primitive six years ago!
