Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I was never sure if that was true but Parlour said it on Talk sport the other even when they had the wenger special.

Awaiting the inevitable dig from Jose when asked about Wenger's 1000th game in charge.

Or will he surprise us all and give credit where its due?!

    uh-huh. THAT'S gonna happen...

    Never gonna happen.

Also, just checked and Wengers 500th game in charge was against Chelsea.

    They won 1-0

I seen an interview earlier where Jose said he would love to manage 1,000 Chelsea games.
Thinly veiled 'tip of the hat' to oul Arsene perhaps?
    Hard to know.

The irony of that comment is that there is probably a considerable amount of lads that are actually shagging all round them and swapping the wife for a younger model at some point of their life :)

    45% meh I'll take it.

Hoping Campbell can give us something to think about.

Campbell has already left Valencia with a decent shinier and skinned Phil Jones. Looks good enough and playing through the middle tonight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,814 ✭✭✭lertsnim

    Campbell looking good tonight.

He'd be a great backup to Walcott.
He's willing to take a defender on and had great positional awareness.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,254 ✭✭✭shano_88

he definetly looks good enough to be a squad player next season. Good touch, Good pace. Still looks a bit raw.

On another note, I hope United pick up a really tough draw in the next round. Bayern or Real please!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,456 ✭✭✭wonga77

Campbell can't possibly be any worse than bendy or sanogo,he has decent experience now too, definitely should be given a shot next year

I doubt they'd make the semis whoever they got

We're very lucky against an exceptionally poor side, who had no plan after losing 2 goals on halftime. Very disappointing match.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,333 ✭✭✭bad2dabone

I'll be shocked if they get past anyone in the next round but you never know. We need 3rd just in case they win the cl!

Was just gonna say that, would be a nightmare. Nobody thought chelsea could do it that year and Tottenham were thrown out :pac:

they could beat Dortmund, maybe Athletico Madrid. I cant see it happening but I dont want to be sweating if we finish fourth and United are in a champions league final!

Let's face they usually quite lucky when it comes to the CL, where anything can happen in the quarters and after. We need to push on and get third, or better.

They're by some distance the weakest side left in the competition. The other 7 teams will be praying they pull them out of the hat.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,012 ✭✭✭✭Alfred Borden

Think they could give Dortmund a game, they are ravaged with injuries and Lewy is suspended for the first leg. After that they will get thumped by everyone else.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,711 ✭✭✭keano_afc

"The turning point of the season”.

Ha ha. Is that the season that started back in September of last year yeah?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,458 ✭✭✭✭gandalf

Oh god I would love to see Real Madrid or Bayern play them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,012 ✭✭✭✭Alfred Borden

tbh if the pool come fourth i could stomach united winning it

Saw this earlier about Bendtner (it's a few years old but still relevant). Arsenal's sports psychologist, Jacques Crevoisier said that Bendtner scored off the scale in ‘self-perceived competence’.
On a scale up to 9, Bendtner got 10! We have never seen that before. Pat Rice was sitting next to me and couldn’t stop laughing.

When Bendtner misses a chance, he is always genuinely convinced that it wasn’t his fault. You might say that’s a problem, and to a certain degree it can be. But you can also view it as this guy has a remarkable ability to come back after set-backs.

Anyway, it's especially relevant now because apparently (according to the Mirror), will be looking for €104k a week at his next club! Now I am starting to see why it is so hard to get rid of him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,665 ✭✭✭✭extra gravy

All that article did was remind me that he's on 50 grand a week...what a joke.

I saw that Lee Dixon picked his best squad ever of players he played with.
He has Berkgamp and Wright up front with Henry on the bench.
Obviously loads of people are jumping on this but it got me thinking how Wrighty would be absolutely perfect for this team.
He was pretty unlucky when he played for Arsenal.... just missed the Graham glory years and was a squad players for a lot of Wengers first title winning side.

He would score a sh*t load in this team.

    IAN WRIGHT WRIGHT WRIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!

He was a bit unlucky with the timing of his career though.

    1. England were loaded with centre forwards
    2. Arsenal were at in imbetween stage.

Lets have a Wrighty appreciation day as since Henry and Bergkamp came along its sometimes forgotten just how good he was for us.

As a 14 year old in 1994, words could not describe how upset i was when he was booked against PSG and missed the CWC final :o

Don't really think there's any evidence for that. Bendtner has had a few good games in the past too, and we've not seen much of Sanogo really.

Judging Campbell off two games isn't a great idea IMO.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,333 ✭✭✭bad2dabone

he's certainly worth a spot in the squad next season though.

Worth a spot in this season's squad, wouldn't necessarily say he's worth a spot in next season's one.

Anyone think we and a few other big clubs need our own forums? would be nice to have a different thread for each topic, i know there is no chance of it happening
