Really is typical that Chelsea play City when they're missing Aguero and Fernandinho

they played United without Rooney/RVP too..

Tbh the less scoring threat they have to face, the better the chance of a draw. So long as both defences do a fantastic job tonight before collapsing against Arsenal ill be happy :D

Walcott will be badly missed against Liverpool.
He has a great scoring record against them and scares the crap out of their defenders.
Our build-up has been very slow without him.

I would agree with the draw myself. Both lose 2 points.

However if it is a City win, I want a big one. 4-0, 5-0, something like that.

    agreed completely.
It's just that I feel we have way better midfield than Liverpool. If we stop the supply to their two forwards, I reckon we will be grand.

I have a very positive feeling about the Saturday game. Don't know why but I feel confident we can (and will) get the three points

A nice juicy 0-0 draw is my no 1 hope and any other controversy is a bonus. :D

Id take a 10-10 draw also if needs be just so long as both drop 2 points.

Though if Moaninho got his arse handed to him on a plate that would put a smirk on this young mans face also :D

    COYG!

A 3-3 draw but with Chelsea 3 up with 10 minutes to go and Mourihnos subs going drastically wrong :D

Thats why Pod and Chambo could be important and perhaps Rosicky also. Very good players at upping the tempo. Hopefully we'll use the fullbacks on the overlap that can put in a few crosses also with both Giroud and Pod lurking in the box. I think though Wenger is afraid to go too gung ho from the beginning for fear we'll be caught on the break with too many men committed up field

Things did speed up when Rosicky came on yesterday.
I don't recall us getting behind their defence to the by-line yesterday though.
Hope we get in behind Pool on Saturday and create many chances.
Love to see defenders facing their own goal.

I just realised what I really hate about City.
All their top players are quite likeable. Kompany.. Toure. . Aguero.. Silva.

    I'll take that.

Had a Liverpool fan in work one of those fans most the lads in work hate talking about football with, tel me today that he reckons Liverpool will beat us 3 or 4-1 and that he was confident they would beat Chelsea and City as well.

He reckoned Arsenal haven't got the players to stop Suarez I was quick to remind him of the last time we met which conveniently he couldn't really remember :pac:.

Have to say I'm confident going into the Liverpool game much like we just can't seem to beat United I think we have the same psychological edge over Liverpool the last couple of years.

Would prefer Rosicky or Wilshere central against them over Ox myself.

Anyone complaining about the atmosphere at the Emirates should be watching this. Very quiet.

Jaysus.. What would he be like if they were challenging at the top?

Is he one of these guys who thinks because they have a lot of home games against the other top teams it means they will win them all?

Ah he's a nightmare when it comes to football most the lads in work refuse to talk football with him. Although I have gotten some easy money of him the last couple of years :).

That's exactly it he thinks there home form is amazing and is oozing confidence they will beat all the top 3 easily enough :pac:.

Totally ignoring the fact they will most likely drop a load of points away to teams in relegation battle.. Like West Brom yesterday.

Don't agree at all - when you look at the fixtures for ourselves, City and Chelsea between now and the end of the season, Chelsea have by far the easiest run. They win tonight and they will be clear favourites for the title.

Agree with this, City and United played, Arsenal, Tottenham and Everton at home eith only Liverpool away. Much rather the draw here.

Ya when you look it at like that it's true. They still have the potential to mess up West Ham style more than City though.

And when you see the table now both will win their next two games handy putting them both on 59. I think we will do well to be on 59 after our next two games.

Hard to call. Still want a draw.

Clear favorites?? Really? Last week they dropped points at home to West Ham, they will drop more points.

I'm very much a game by game looker at the table. Top of the table by two points after tonight from both of them. Perfect imo.

Chelsea have shown they can slip up against lower opposition as well. West Ham game case in point.

City might feel less brilliant as well after a loss at home.

I see your point though, I just think we can take it a game at a time and just joust it out with the boys at the top. We have been used to a dog fight the last few seasons.

Dont agree, Mourinho never lost at home in the league with them, west ham and west brom results are a rarity, if they win here their tails will be up and definitely would be favourites.

Can see City scoring anyway after chelsea missing these chances, hopefully they don't score two.

I love how our own fans are scrambling to label two teams who have been behind us for the majority of the season and two teams who will what is looking likely be behind us after tonight favorites for the league.

Whilst once again were sat were we have sat most of the season in 1st ;).

I seem to remember some outrage against Wenger in the summer for penny pinching again and not getting it done early! Seems justified now!

Jaysus he has played about 60 mins for City and already he's bad?

So bad he is playing for opposition :D

    Jovetic is a good player.

If City signed Giroud, he'd be known as one of the worst players in the Premier League because of how little or how he never plays. And when he does, he doesn't have time to adjust.

Likewise, if Arsenal signed Jovetic and gave him 38 games, he would show his stuff.

Not bad. Just not worth the money that was being quoted for him at the time. £20 odd million for City and Chelsea may be ok to splash out but not for us.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,333 ✭✭✭bad2dabone

i also love the way city won't win all their home games. good on ya chelsea.

I know it immaterial now but it's such a pity we didn't win at St Mary's.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,333 ✭✭✭bad2dabone

once again though the table looks like this:
    1.
    2.City
    3.Chelsea

we're ignored - and disregarded. coming in under the radar.

Yes and the home game against Everton when we fell asleep at the back.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,553 ✭✭✭Spanish Johnny

Happy with that result now because it's over and that's it. I think it tightens up the race and probably the best thing it does is stops City's momentum and there supposed recent invincibility.

I also think Chelsea will drop unexpected points and that's what will make tonight a good result.

We need to win Saturday. I am very wary of the United game. We are on 55 now and by the time we play that game we have the potential to be 3/4 behind both teams if we go badly. Real test now. Have to step up and answer.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,207 ✭✭✭Hangballlouie

My opinion is that it seems that tonight it was a good win for you, but would it have not been a better result if City won, leaving a gap between the top 2 and 3rd position, rather than now where there is only 2 points between the top 3?

Instead of a two horse race, you now have another formidable player in the run in for the title?

There is three mini leagues going on now, which will make the last few months pretty interesting viewing.

All the pundits were having multiple orga*ms when City were top last week. Best team on the planet...me arse...luv the egg on all the so called pundits faces...
