Ball was gone for my money. Could go either way. No where close to definite.

Lads, not sure if you knew this but Pudders actually is Bendtner. Hence the Sanogo hate.

Yep I have definitely seen them given for tackles like that but I still can't believe that Liverpool didn't get a peno for Ox's tackle on Suarez! I can only assume that the backflip made Webbs mind up that it was simulation.

Webb refereed to his normal standard, pretty poorly!

Cant wait to read the massive praise Wenger will get for resting 7 players and still beating the form team in England.

Its going to be tremendous to read about... Isnt it?

    Hi, I'm a pool fan.

As I said earlier, haven't many complaints. We had chances but didn't take them. It was a fairly even game I thought and on another day we might have grabbed something from the game. Arsenal were a vast improvement from the league game and played some lovely stuff at times.

Probably not the post you were hoping for but there you go :)

Good post was hoping to see more of your fellow supporters the same ones who were In here Saturday evening making all sort of claims

Cazorlas was a def pen too

And a red card to go with it. Cantona style kung-fu kick

Thought Jenkinson had a great game today. Was really worried when I saw his name on the team sheet but he looked very solid today.

Great to get the win and now Wenger is a genius again resting the players :pac: Could have done without getting Everton in the next round but at least it's at home and not against City.

Sanogo did pretty well and made a right nuisance of himself. Oxlade Chamberlain was excellent again, one of my favourite players. Ozil had another great game

Ox has been absolutely brilliant since he came back. Considering how long he was out, it's a highly impressive return.

    Great win. Hard earned.

Suarez incident a definite penalty and I wouldnt be claiming the Cazorla one to be honest.

No shame in acknowledging we got lucky today. Were due it.

So the narrative all season was the Arsenal can't beat the big teams. This was despite having beaten Liverpool (and Dortmund, and to a lesser extent Napoli and Spurs..). So logic tells me Liverpool mustn't be a big team.

When we get (well) beaten at Liverpool the line is trotted out again, as proof of our failings. Seems that Liverpool became a big team in the intervening period. After today, I guess they are no longer. Or is it just possible that pundits talk a load of *** :)

He has been incredible. Brilliant attitude. You'd know his rugby days has had a good influence on him. He relishes the physical side of the game. No whining or mouthing out of him.

Fabianski deserves great credit for his performance today....All of a sudden i want him to sign a new deal. Brilliant composure and awareness. Sign him up Wenger!!

Cant help feeling he will really become an amazing keeper at a new club ala Mannone.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,428 ✭✭✭.jacksparrow.

I'm wondering why Wenger bought podolski. What was he expecting of him?

His goal scoring record has been very consistent, he never really played as a lone striker so he didnt have that in mind for him, just what did he have in mind I'd love to know.

Mannone does well at Sunderland because he is kept busy, Arsenal need a keeper who can be uninvolved for large parts but be ready when needed, letting Mannone go was the right call.

On Fab, he is as good as a second choice as you will find, he deserves a first team shot if not with us someone else. Would love to keep him

I find our usage of Podolski very strange

He'd have been busy with us today and in a few other games for that matter :D

As next Saturday's game against Sunderland is wedged between the 2 CL games I can see Wenger giving today's team another run out. Then again its a must win game but its at home..

Fair play to Bob Wilson for putting that clown Moroninho in his place. An Arsenal legend and a gentleman through and through. The board really should be seen to defend Wenger publicly but of course as long as there is profit then no problem.

Isn't there 3 weeks between the two. Bayern games?

My mistake. Thought there was only one.

He is a specialist in failure.

If I had 8 years and failed to build a team I would walk away, bla bla bla

I can remember Lineker done his Mourinho love in documentary after Chelsea won the league back in 2005.

Of course Silly B0llocks was patting himself on the back for having led União de Leiriato their highest ever finish on a shoestring. The most self absorbed asshole that football has ever seen. A petulant spoilt silly little scrote of a man and only dopes who know nothing about football like Mario Rosenstock would approve of his behaviour. Lineker was no better with his pathetic lick-arseing.

In fairness he tweeted Jose was way out of order the other day.

Give him a cake. He didnt acknowledge the few occasions he was well out of order himself regarding Wenger.

Jaysus what was Podolski doing giving that needless penalty away?

That could have been another one by Ox.
    Gerrard should be gone.

    Suarez going down is hilarious.

Why was he holding his hamstring after? Horrible player.

Delighted to have gotten one over Liverpool today. Some of their fans on here are whiney children.

That's because it was really a non incident. Arsenal fans are trying to use it as some way of balancing up the Suarez non pen either that or the media hates you.

Same way Pool fans are blaming Webb for not being able to beat a second string Arsenal

Doesnt suit their agenda. Cant create controversy and great headlines like "Liverpool robbed". Suarez is 100% a penalty and would be raging if i was a liverpool fan but Santi's is a pen too no matter what way people want to dress it up.

I didn't think the Cazorla incident was a peno

Enjoyed today and the little bit of banter but on we go

Munich on Wednesday can't wait for that

The team picks itself really but even I agree that podi should be seriously considered

And everyone knows I'm not his biggest fan, impressed with him today though

That was the first lot just one of those freak results.

You know today we rested for Bayern making the result and Wengers decision making even more impressive

Its worth noting that Arsenal didn't start with Cazorla, Wilshere, Giroud, Rosicky, Ramsey, Walcott, Sagna, Szczesny or Gibbs today.

We played second string team :)

Or you could say it was a freak occurrence today that mostly deadly strike force in the league failed to take any of their chances. That's probably more believable.

Or the club captain Vermaelen, making ten.

We don't need that to balance it up, we won. Not going to respond to anything else from you.

No a freak occurrence happens once

The most deadly strike force in the league failed to score at the emeraties the last time they were there too......
