    1. First of all shop around to find the best solicitor. Price might vary, but the most expensive doesn't always mean the best. Check forums and chat rooms for recommendation, make sure to ring at least 10 different companies in different locations, so you can compare the prices.
    2. During the viewing do not say too much to the person who is showing you the property. Less they know about you more chance of fair price negotiation you have. Do not be afraid to ask, make sure you know what is the BER retting? What sort of heating is in the house? (gas heating is always cheaper) If buying an apartment make sure you ask how much know how much is the management service charge – some estates charge as much as EUR3000/per annum.
    3. Remember to have your budget agreed before you start bidding. You might get very excited when bidding on your dream home and estate agents will do their best to help you forget about your budget limits and make another thousand look like easy to get.
    4. Make sure to shop around when buying insurance. Banks will make you feel like it is mandatory to buy insurance from them but guess what... You can buy it from any insurance company. You can save up to 60% compare to bank offer. Simply try to compare prices online, you can check websites like: <snip> or <snip>
    5. Moving time: Make sure you have your stuff packed and ready to move. Try to hire a van for a day or two, it will save you few bob. If you don't want to drive rented van or you need removal company to help try <snip> you can save with them a small fortune. When buying furniture make sure that delivery service is included. Some of the furniture shops change double or triple rates of what you can get online. Don’t be afraid to ask! Good luck.
