    The volt drop on the 16 sq. mm cable alone will be excessive (if you take a design current of 20A).

    The solution is either:
    1) Lower the design current - Consider energy efficient lighting.
    2) Larger cable - Expensive
    3) Shorter run - Different cable routing perhaps? Or move the shed?

    Sorry man read your calculations table wrong (Must book an eye test). So would have to be at least 25 but 35sq would be ideal but expensive.

    Maybe a generator would be his best bet.

    It might draw about 8 to 9 k ? be like someone turning on and off a small shower

    Does anybody have any estimates on what the esb would charge him for a supply into the shed?
