Casuals Wednesday 29/01/2014 (and optional Melee tutorial)

I'll be in after work with AE and my stick.

Also though, in advance of RTC this weekend, and various people asking me Melee questions, I'll bring in some kit to teach anybody Melee who is interested in learning.

It's a very easy game to grasp the basics of, and the level of play in Ireland is super low. So I feel confident that in an hour of explanations, some new challenger could steal an easy 4th place at the tournament if they wanted.

I'll be popping in too but not until 6ish... I'm in a workshop seminar all this week and don't finish till 5. I'll be bring the Wii with me and will leave it with all the community equipment for casuals and tournaments... it's just gathering dust in our house and I'm sure you guys can get better use out of it I don't have the controllers (sister has them) but I'll get them off her and throw them in the box when I get them back or do you guys use them?

I think this was the first Smash Bros Melee casuals at XGC that was just dedicated casuals (that I've seen at least), as opposed to our more standard "Casuals station at a tournament". Hopefully we can get that going more regularly since Rachel was kind enough to donate her kit to the equipment pool, so we only need controllers + disc to run casuals in future (4 gamecube controllers is still half the size of one fightstick).

If any more people want to learn Smash in the future, just let me know, I'm always looking to get more people hooked.
