Any news of the Liffey down the SJRQ end?

Henwin - There was flooding in Adare on the N21 so diversion there might add a bit of time, but it could even be cleared up by the time you're passing through.

Just watch out for crosswinds on the motorways too and any high-sided lorries!

On another point.... I've often wondered about the wisdom of buying a apartment in the Dublin docklands?

The River Thames in London has a flood barrier, but I could not see that working in Dublin.

    Anybody have any opinions?

The last hour seemed to have the strongest gusts here in South east Kerry.
Hearing reports of serious flooding in North Kerry.

Yep, it's been howling here in Killarney for at least the last 8 hours...perhaps more...and it has not started to ease off at all, in fact it seems to have worsened, more continuous sustained bursts of wind tearing at the building.

Anyone know when these winds are ment to ease up

Doesn't look like there was any flooding at Liffey looking at SIPTU web cam

    West Limerick.

Highest gusts accompany the showers which themselves are pretty heavy. Between showers its just windy with strong gusts.

Heavy buffeting of my vehicle when stationary.

The Adare flooding is tidal related. Emergency services were present as were the county council to assess the situation. Sy. Stephen's day flooding there, it wad worried the bridge would sustain structural damage.

With anything other than the period around high tide I can't see any see any issue with Adare.

Appears as though the weather is having an impact on air traffic at Dublin... switched runways after aircraft holding. EG: RYR127N.

Waves should still be quite high (10m+) on the west/southwest coast by the time of high tide this evening.

If the latest hi res models are to be believed, Monday morning would see stronger gusts than today over inland areas of the south/east esp. Given the complex look of the synoptics, would say this is far from resolved but might be worth keeping an eye on.

Sea seems to have done more damage here in Connemara. Not sure of the extent as it had already done a lot the last time.

Some stronger gusts reaching eastern areas now.

    Gust to 50kt (92 km/hr) @ Dublin Airport at 2pm

Back up to 79kt (146 km/hr) @ Kinsale Energey Platform

looks like that little snaky depression should give us a bit of trouble

Few missed approaches at Dublin Airport now.

Wind in Killarney still very strong, cloud cover has remained unbroken all morning visibility slightly up to around 4 miles.

Must be some massive bank of cloud which is continuously coming in.

AF1078/AFR870D looks to have diverted from Dublin to Belfast - heart was in mouth here, it's squawking 7700 (emergency) and I lost the track locally - but it's ok, just diverted out of range

Similar event in Donabate compared to early Jan although the swell was not quite as big. Would still expect it's washed away another chunk of sand dunes as sea all the way into the shore. Dublin seems to have avoided any flooding (just), although winds have picked up since high tide but should be calmed down for next high tide

    Killarney update,

First break in the cloud cover now, sun coming through in short bursts.

The clouds are racing across like black stallions,

Uh ohhhh plunged back into greyness now, sun is gone.
