Huge waves out at sea tomorrow morning, 19m (62ft) significant wave heights. Individual waves would be even higher.

The only good news (I think?) is that the big waves don't seem to be reaching the coast until some hours after tomorrow mornings high tide, so that should reduce some of the risk of coastal flooding.

How many hours after do you reckon?

Just saw pictures of the Shannon at o callaghans strand in limerick starting to flood over the board walk ! That doesn't bode well for tomorrow morning :-0

I cannot believe how windy it is already in macroom, co.cork. I wasn't expecting to be able to hear the wind over the tv, dishwasher & tumble dryer for a few hours yet!!

So...if they were flooded/had their proprty damaage and there was a red alert...they'd be happy enough?

I would say that they were saying if there was a red alert they could have taken precautions against flooding, anyway I cant understand all the bickering that's going on here against posters and alert colors, it would put you off posting anything to do with this storm

Looks like the highest waves would be around 3-6 hours after high tide on that model.

Who names these storms, the pleb on 3e is after calling the storm Bridget.
The Weather Channel in the UK took it on themselves to name it that after the saint's day (same ones that came up with 'Saint Judes'). It's not something used by any meteorological agency.

The Institute for Meteorology of the Free University, Berlin have officially named it Nadja

You knew you were in trouble, it was just that you didnt know exactly how much trouble till you got home.

OPW have been distributing sandbags in Co. Kerry.

With breeches in sea defences it for them is indeed a Level 3 warning.

Did you not see MT's map

No I don't follow his fc. I find Maq's posts to be most accurate.
I meant level 3 in terms of wind, I don't know what the damage will be in coastal areas so I can't comment on that but that goes back to my original point about the title being misleading as I assumed it was for wind speeds(apparently it's not tho so my mistake). Level 3 coastal event would suffice as a title imo to avoid confusion but whatever I won't discuss it any further

Possible. According to the 2000 M.E. report, it's 0C with a rel humidity of 97% at Newport. That gives a DP of -0.37.
