We want to replace our external front light for something a bit better. It's an old fashioned looking lantern light that seems to be a hibernating ground for insects. Is it ok to turn off the electricity and just switch it for a new lamp or do we need an electrician for that. Sorry if it's a no brainer, I'd rather be safe than sorry, we just want to replace it with a more weather proof version of what we already have. Thanks.
