Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

KP Boateng and Sidney Sam released from Schalke with immediate effect! Seems a bit drastic!

Don't know to be honest. Had to look it up and found this on the Daily Mail
Schalke have cancelled the contracts of Kevin-Prince Boateng and Sidney Sam 'with immediate effect' as a 'consequence' of their surprise defeat by Cologne in the Bundesliga on Sunday.
The Royal Blues were beaten 2-0 at the RheinEnergieStadion to leave their hopes of qualifying for Europe hanging by a thread, and general manager Horst Heldt had promised action would be taken.
Boateng and Sam have both been released from the club while Marco Hoger is suspended from training or playing with the first-team squad until after Saturday's game against Paderborn.

Germany winger Sam only joined Schalke last season and was understood to have three years left on his contract. Boateng had one year remaining on his current deal.
After their defeat on Sunday, Heldt said: 'I do not know if all players will have the next 14 days at the training ground. Some will feel the consequences.
'If a player is not willing to do what we ask, then he will not be at the next training session.'

Boateng has been muck for years. Bit harsh on Sam though. Has had a lot of injuries this year

As a real life Schalke fan I'm feckin delighted to see that clown Kevin Prince gone. He's been rubbish for ages and the big thing is he does what he wants not what the coach's ask. He's more interested in looking a like a hard man rapper than concentrating on the club. You should see the cut of him in his social media pics with all his wanna be gangster poses.

Sam I dunno what to make as he has been injured but I'd assume he was probably acting the maggot as a well.

To think we turned down both Shaqiri and Schurrle in favour of a crocked winger like Sam Jesus.

Although I'm surprised at Hoger he always gives his best maybe there has been strife with Roberto behind the scenes.

You will know better than me, whatever happened to Ralf Fahrmann? I bought him just as he started getting his game for Schalke and there was even talk of him making the German squad. Now he isn't even in the Schalke squad!!

He got a bad injury. So did Fabian Giefer, so Timon Wellenreuther was number 1 for about 3-4 months.

Fahrmann is back now. Has been playing the last month or two

As Ger said Fahrmann is #1 but got injured for about 8 games! Geifer was sub and got thrown in only to get injured too then the young fella played until Ralf got fit and he's played the last while there :)

It was an American fifa rep they were investigating, he then turned states evidence and started rolling on others - at least that is how I picked it up

They were in for WC 2022 I tink. Or 2018. They lost out, everyone cried "bribery!" and the yanks thought "nawwwwww, no way man"

Chuck Blazer (the fella who turned states) was the campaign manager for Jack Warner's first election to run CONCACAF. He set up an office in Florida back in the day when CONCACAF dint have much money goin thru it's books and set about drumming up interest in sponsorship. Cos lots of the BAD TINGS were done on yank soil and used yank banks the feds were able to go after it using their RICO lawses.

    The rest is geography.

Heard some of it explained on Matt Cooper today

    Circa 1989
Blazer attended an Trinedad and Tobego Vs USA game as part of the official USA football federation.

He meets Warner here and convinces him to run for president of CONCACAF, with Blazer running the campaign.

Warner gets elected and appoints Blazer as his Vice-pres or Secretary or something like that

Blazer does deal with CONCACAF that he will handle all business tranactions through his company, taking 10% for the priveledge

CONCACAF TV right sold for $700,000,000 recently but at the start their transactions were in the 100,000s, not millions

Warner gets investigated and get booted from FIFA ( Blazer ratted on him)

Warner reports Blazer to US Tax Authorities in relation to all the money earned though his company in the US which went undeclared.

FBI an IRS picked up Blazer in 2011

Blazer squalled like a pig on any one and every one he knew about - assume simular to Riders in the Lance Armstrong investigation, when its Federal its truth or Prison ...

Got a 5m payoff to drop legal action agaisnt FIFA...

I assume this has Irish fans fuming, if they were willing to pay they must have been worried they might not win that case and Ireland could have gone to the WC

I'd rather the payoff over a World Cup slot if that clown Delaney was sacked :( Jesus just looking at his big dopey open mouthed head makes my blood boil.

We would never have won that case, could you imagine if all referee mistakes went to court? It would have been a shambles, 5m was a decent result when we hadn't a leg to stand on (legally).

My concern would be where that money went.....

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 31,152 ✭✭✭✭KERSPLAT!

Completely agree with Hercule, no way we would have won but fair play to Delaney for swinging the 5m, we just need to know what the swine did with the money or what it was spent on

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,132 ✭✭✭baza Rakus

According to Sky News the €5m is on the books for the Aviva Stadium (this according to an FAI press release tonite)

Apparently Keane was driving and O'Neill asked 'So Roy, what really happened in Saipan?' ... Roy stood on the brakes ...
