has anyone bought a 2nd hand car in England, I need a specific type of family estate and have sourced in the London area through gumtree, but what about carrying cash through the airports say £5000 sterling and how much does the boat trip back cost or any other issues you may have encountered?

There was a thread on there about this a few days ago. The consensus seemed to be unless you are spending €20k+ then it's not financially advantageous. You will probably get a better spec of car though.
