Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Turbidy or Rosenstock:)

Someone like Clive Anderson used to have guests on his show who were playing a character, and he would work to the guest's script. Tubridy on the other hand just says, "And how's Michael", and lets Rosenstock get on with it.

i disagree, but i do admit it works better on the radio. its a great talent and wit he has.

He has a talent in imitating voices, but he has no wit whatsoever. That's why he works better on radio, it's can be amusing not because of what he's saying, but the perception that it's the person he's imitating saying it. His TV show was a disaster.

Still have that coax cable handy, CountyHurler?

Can you send it express delivery to Cardiff?

Is there anything as cringe-inducing as Tubridy's false laugh

  • Registered Users Posts: 674 ✭✭✭GotTheTshirt

    Are you single?

Tubs said on his radio show this morning that the Feb 14th. show is a Valentines Special - only single people will be allowed in the audience.

    *shudder*

Nah, I was aiming high. Going for a spot as a guest!

I wish Rosenstock would do Rhys Ifans and re-enact the "DLB" incident.

  • Registered Users Posts: 128 ✭✭Liam92

Mario Rosenstock must hang around the RTÉ canteen often in the hope of getting on the show, again. Likewise for Pat Shortt, surely he'll also be on, again, soon.

The LLS producers are so environmentally friendly, they keep recycling rubbish guests.

That's pretty much how Jay Leno works ( have you ever been on a Plane, Louis?).

This guy is an amazing mimic. If I were him I'd take it to the UK. Escape the begrudgery.

    This song is great!

I don't think Rosenstock being "interviewed" by Tubs allows him to show his skills as a mimic/comic.

I'm hearing him for the first time. Lived abroad. Great talent. Should leave the land of begrudgery though.

"The most talked about concert this year"

Is it Red Hurley in the Red Cow?

    EDIT:,

But then this is the thread for people who hate the LLS who always watch the LLS.

If I won the tix tonight, I'd ask Tubs to rip them up, a la Pat Kenny and the rude Toy Show Lady.

You couldn't pay me to go to a Garth Brooks concert.

How awful that your TV has only one channel.

Stewart Lee is a great comedian, if he told the same joke for >10 years and RTE insisted on wheeling him out over and over again for the same old sh1t it wouldnt matter how great he is.

And he's not a great mimic anyway, thats all Irish comedians seem to be able to do these days, lame attempts at funny accents, Dara O Brian is the only funny one left.

i think the point is, the jokes, sketches, songs etc he makes up are hardly stale. he is literally EVERY DAY changing his act and coming up with new voices. he works on a private station, pulls in crowds to live shows and has got himself a tv show which attracts the numbers.

to call him unfunny and stale is rather begrudging
