Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This one is kicking off shortly if anyone's interested. I'm sure there's plenty of streams in the usual places.

    Teams:

Newcastle: Krul; Debuchy, Williamson, S.Taylor, Santon; Tiote (c), Sissoko, Anita; Ben Arfa, Shola Ameobi, Sammy Ameobi

Subs: Elliot, Dummett, Haidara, Yanga-Mbiwa, Marveaux, Armstrong, de Jong

Sunderland: Mannone, Bardsley, Alonso, Brown, O'Shea (c), Bridcutt, Colback, Ki, Johnson, Borini, Altidore

Subs: Larsson, Gardner, Wickham, Giaccherini, Vergini, Scocco, Ustari

For some reason it just doesn't feel like a Derby Day for me. I was actually able to sleep properly last night for the first time in years before it :pac: Might be something to do with the cup final coming up meaning it's no longer our biggest game of the season, but anyway.

I'd snap your hand off for a draw and getting out of there unbeaten.

Difficult for him to be fair, the players aren't even looking to get him on the ball instead lumping it towards Ameobi.

The Derby really has become a banker for Sunderland. Newcastle are safe and don't want the EL so will just see out the season, Sunderland under Poyet will not lack for work ethic, whatever about the quality.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,561 ✭✭✭Duff

    Shameful.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,710 ✭✭✭✭Paully D

I still think Newcastle will take at least a draw here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5

Absolute shambles, bossed from the first minute form a team who have been in the relegation zone for most of the season.

    CAbaye was overrated anyway

6 points from safety yet and if we play like this we wont get them.

Ah you will, plenty of points to be picked up yet. The relegation cut off will be very low this season if they way things are going,

Exactly how I thought this would pan out tbh. Nobody in midfield to grab hold of the ball. Long ball hoof tactics. Ben Arfa anonymous. This could be a 5-1 for Sunderland.

Get someone other than Santon to take the bloody set pieces, 2 games now that he has failed 90% of the time

You look like getting the next goal, after that we will collapse.

Set piece 3 nil IMHO, and we will lose a player to a red

Should get JFK in to do the half time teamtalk since he knows more about football than anyone at the club!

Give the ball away, foul, repeat

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,561 ✭✭✭Duff

Pathetic thing is, we'll probably see no changes until the 80+ minute.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5

Debuchy and Santon have been ripped apart

Horse sh1t. Completely predictable, no strength in depth at all, barely championship quality outside the first 8/9 players in the squad. Loose 2 players and we are lost

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5

Another unwanted record for Pardew, first NUFC manager to lose 3 derbies in a row since the 1920s. Give that man another 8 years!

There's a long way to go yet, he certainly hasn't lost it by half time.

I'd be looking more at the lack of investment tbh.. I'm no Pardew fan but when we have had our best team available this season we've played well for the most part. Not replacing Cabaye is unforgivable.

Sunderland have been gash for most of the season, should still be turning them over based on that alone. They have been completely comfortable, no fight or spirit or even shape, thats down to Pardew.

PLayed 85 mins this season, managed 1 shot

    Started last game in April.

May be a decent player but cant see it today.

Instant hero if he does mind, last throw of the dice for us!
