Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Nice pass to Sterling's face.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 450 ✭✭taytothief

Really? I think he's been pretty poor and doesn't know what he's doing in this deeper position

You sound like someone who doesn't know what they're talking about. But, but, he doesn't know what he's doing!
This forum lost all credibility when it went full retard on Steven Gerrard.

Lugano vs Sterling, Sturridge and Suarez should provide a few lols.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,517 ✭✭✭passremarkable

its mundane quiet games like this we need to win, grind out the win

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,510 ✭✭✭✭noodler

Suarez would frustrate the life out of you if you played with him, he never seems to shut up and stop giving out :)

God, I'd be chewing him out every 5 minutes.

Know loads of players like that, strange that it's the superstar though.

I hope he can keep making people eat their words, me included.

Far better option than Lucas in there from what I've seen the past few games.

Against more powerful midfield's it could be a different story of course

Cissokho needs to be drug tested at half time...he's been pretty good so far.

Hate these early games, no atmosphere.

He hasn't done anything wrong really. But I presume the idea of Gerrard playing there is to be a deep lying playmaker? If so he doesn't know what positions to be in to receive the ball and looks lost at times

That makes no sense at all. None, zero.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,316 ✭✭✭kevohmsford

Gera nearly scored. He is the one player most likely to score for West Brom

Look at Gerrard when Liverpool have the ball. Look at his movement, he is rarely in a good position to receive the ball

A few months ago I started putting a euro in a tin every time coutinho gave the ball away

    It is strangely subdued.

I thought I heard someone asking someone to get them chips a moment ago from the crowd?

    Sterling has been excellent

Sterling has played very well in this game. Involved in a lot of moves.

You mean because he's filling in at the back while the wing backs move up?

Toure gives the ball away so bloody often

It suits him. Gerrard has always been a great player. He's just let down physically and a liability because of this. The deeper role where he gets to sit means you still get the great passing and he stays fresh for more of the game. Couple Henderson with him who can get up and down the pitch all day, and you have a solid midfield base.

It was a great bit of thinking from Rodgers.

I never expected Sturridge to be anywhere near this good. Unbelievable that Chelsea let him go.

Free kick 20 yards outside the box we go back to the keeper Christ that's horrible

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,510 ✭✭✭✭noodler

Well that free kick strangely conservative.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,887 ✭✭✭✭klose

Pretty poor but ill take it tbh. Hopefully we kick on the 2nd half

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,316 ✭✭✭kevohmsford

1-0 to Liverpool at half time. West Brom have not done much.

    Great tackle on Inho.

Sterling is probably my favourite ever player for Liverpool who has worn the number 31 jersey. Never thought anyone would overtake El Zhar.

Well it made sense with a minute on the clock.

Rather boring game, hopefully with the WBA defence switch it'll liven up.

No I'm talking about when Liverpool have the ball in their own half and are looking for an option for the pass and Gerrard is nowhere to be seen. I am obviously not expecting him to be up with the strikers when Liverpool are attacking

I just cant understand why they sacked Steve Clarke for this guy

Poor play at the end tho, should have stopped the ball and turned to pass it by then, going wider the wrong option.

Shame, did very well to get that far.

Weird alright! There is no tempo to the game, its all over the shop. I think Gerrard is more Masch than Pirlo, he's playing well, but I dont think hes capable of dictating the tempo.

I don't think you see that very often at the end of a first half when in a shooting position. If it goes out of play, it's almost as good. Got very nervous with the way it turned out.

They've just let their best player and POTY over the last 2 years go to United too.

    Generous little club. :P

Sterling going from strength to strength. For the size of him, its wonderful to see him shrug off challenges and continue at pace.

If he can work on his finishing, he is going to be some talent. We have a special player on our hands with him.

    He might like card-based games?

He doesn't seem like the 'coke and hooker' type. Card games could be his vice.

More the rent boy type. :P Fabulous player, but not exactly the quintessential macho footballer is he?

Artera: No, it is match atax or nothing.
