Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have discovered the reason for our regression & Liverpool's improvement, they have a guy on their coaching staff who wears shorts while on the bench, since our shorts loving guy left we've gone backwards.

Very frustrating watching a team like liverpool with average players (majority) but they are miles better than our team who are much better players over all

The difference is a system playing to the player's strengths rather than shoehorning top players into an archaic system

Fair enough, my mistake. Long way from over yet though, I think there will be a lot of goals in that match.

Yeah hopefully they nick a draw but then its up to us to get the results as well and that's where my confidence dips

At this stage I'm hoping Spurs catch them to be honest, don't see us closing this gap.

Vidic and Rio out, with Jagielka coming this way.

Rafael being sold, and Coleman coming in.

    RVP out with no replacement.

    Hernandez out with no replacement.

Kagawa out since we have Mata.

I really doubt Jags or Coleman will come close to heading yer way.
Martinez is only getting started (how far he'll bring them is debatable) but he has full control over sales. He managed to keep Baines and only sold Fellaini because he doesn't fit the style he wants.
Just an opinion but i'd say ye will be looking elsewhere than to 2 of Everton's nailed on back 4 pairing.

Same unfortunately, after the palace game i just hoped we went on good form for the rest of the season even if we didn't make champion s league but that olympiacos game just destroyed the last shred of confidence I had in Moyes. I really hope he proves me wrong and gets some sort of momentum going but it's hard to see

Not looking forward to our game

"We talked about it. As long as I can think Manchester (United) has been my dream club. I don't advice him to do anything. He can do that on his own. There are worse situations than having to make that decision. "

But Liverpool will move into second.

And I'm hoping Newcastle or Southampton will end up ahead of us.

Anything happening above 5th spot is not really of huge relevance as United won't be in the mix there this season, although a Liverpool league win would make it the ultimate disaster of a season.

It has been some fall from grace, a bit surreal even.

Was thinking while watching the game, even though he would be an automatic pick for United why would Shaw pick Moyes over Mourinho ? Unless we throw money at him.

This applies to all top players, I laughed at the suggestion at the start of the season, the Latin contingent which moyes seams to be alienating surely won't have much good to say.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 18,427 Mod ✭✭✭✭DM_7

Man United's chief scout is in Rome, Olimpico, to watch ‪‎Benatia‬ for Roma against Inter. He's an option to replace Vidic, Sky Italy reports

Moyes is in Munich. At least they are watching players. It has been said that our scouting method has been scattergun to put it mildly. In fairness to Moyes he is trying to change this, the only drawback is that he is so slow to pull the trigger on a transfer.I suppose it's the habit of a lifetime having pennies to spend.

Liverpool looking worryingly consistent .... With them still to play the big boys in Anfield they now really have to be considered as potential champions :(

I still have City and Chelsea ahead of them. Probably in that order.
Arsenal doing their best to throw it away!

Liverpool are getting good results, but I can't see them beating all three of the above to the top.

I think they could beat Chelsea, City I do think could turn them over but they could easily get a draw... SAF leaving and the very next season Liverpool winning the league with us totally out of it would be irony at its worst.

    We won't win it Ted.

as much as it pains me to say it I just can't add it up in my head to see us take the title.

But 3rd should be our new minimum benchmark for this season, and under Rodgers our longterm prospects look healthy.

It's worrying me at this stage - I actually think it's Liverpools's to loose now. If they beat United at OT I think they could go all the way.

Can't see how it would pain you to say it, Liverpool are having a fantastic season, top 3 would surely have been beyond even the most optimistic of fan's expectations preseason?

just looking at the table and arsenal could be in serious trouble as well with the upcoming games, would be crazy to think if both arsenal and us are not in the cl next season

I swear there'll be some fans calling for Rodgers' head if we "only" get top 4.

    mark my words.

not talking about the poster you quoted, but it's ludicrous how quickly some fans' expectations have risen.

I think it's either the title or 2nd for the pool ... A fantastic season for Rodgers regardless.

Liverpool are playing some amazing football this season. Its one touch counter attacking passing one weak and great build up play the next.

Your defense may get exposed in the run in but we have been saying that all season and your still there. Chelsea, City and Spurs all have to go to Anfeild, that will be a major advantage for you, that and being fresh each week.

As much as it hurts me to say it, it would be a shame if Steven Gerrard didn't win an EPL medal at some stage.
