    Hi All,

Myself and a few of my friends are interesting in taking up kayaking. We really like the sit on Kayaks and more than likely thats what we will end up buying..
Before we buy we would like to rent them just to see how we get on.. My question is is there anywhere to rent sit on kayaks. We are living in south Dublin / Kildare.

Also when we do decide to purchase which hopefully will be in the next few weeks can anyone recommend the best place to buy one..

I have been looking on English sites and we can get 3 delivered to Dublin for 349euro each.

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

They're not a bad little kayak - I got one of them from fleabay. Not sure if it's the exact same brand - mine is a Galaxy and I think it's slightly longer than the one you linked although they do look identical.

They are fairly stable even in rough seas and so far I'm pretty happy with it. Great value at that kind of money.

Thanks for the reply. I was actually looking at ones just like yours. Where do you normally kayak??

Do you mind me asking where you got yours and how much you paid?

I am in talks with a couple of guys around Ireland too.

This guy is doing us a good deal if we buy 3 and he will have them in at the end of the month. but they dont have the option for fishing which i would like.

We bought two from this guy - http://www.ebay.ie/itm/SIT-ON-TOP-FISHING-KAYAK-CANOE-GALAXY-CRUZ-/261164219764?pt=UK_Sporting_Goods_CanoesKayaks_Rafts_SM&var=&hash=item3cce99bd74

Did a deal on the postage and we got them for about €370 each delivered. So far we've mostly been out around Clogherhead but we've been out in Skerries and Howth too. Was quite late in the season when we got them last year and I plan on doing a fair bit of fishing from it this year, including fly fishing on the Midland Lakes. You should pop over to the Irish Kayak Fishing forum - http://www.irishkayakangling.com/forum/index.php

Hi OP and welcome to the most fufilling sport you'll ever do (we're all bias here)

The same old argument comes into play here though.

You're taking craft that you are not trained to operate properly into potentially dangerous environments which could potentially end your life.

The general suggestion is that you join a club or do a course on an introduction to Kayaking. You'll learn the basics and will be more prepared come an emergency situation.

You don't have to stay with the club but it's always better the devil you know !

    Thanks.

Yes we were only saying that we would like to rent first and also do some courses or training with Kayaks.

I was given a number for a guy in East Coast Adventures. so we will be calling him soon.

As for joining a club we 100% want to do that. We just need to find one.

How about here to try out some boats?

Bought two Perception Triumph 13s from Bantry Bay Canoes last year and very happy with them, great to deal with.
