Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

iPhone 4S - Music Won't Sync

I've had this problem for quite some time now. I've looked online and it seems to be a relatively common problem with the iPhone 4S but, from what I have seen, there is no proper solution and Apple don't seem to have done anything about it.

I connect the phone to my laptop and it goes through the normal syncing process. However, as soon as it goes to sync music it copies 4-5 songs then says "Cancelling sync". The songs appear on my phone but they can't be played. Here is a screenshot showing what appears to be a "Stop" symbol beside every song:

Both iTunes and the phone are up to date. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version of iTunes. Restoring the phone does not work. I am at a loss :( Does anyone know how to fix this problem and enable the songs to sync and be played on the phone?

Well first it is not a 'relatively common problem with the iPhone 4S'. It may be discussed by a tiny number who have encountered problems, but that is different.

You have said nothing about your Sync settings in iTunes under Music. What format is the music ? You say it copies 4-5 songs an stops. How many songs are there in your iTunes ?

Not a solution to your specific issue but why persist with iTunes? I always found it clunky. Media monkey is what I use. I only ever use iTunes when its time to update my IOS.

media Monkey produces lots of problems with apps and podcasts. iTunes is solid and reliable imho.

What about the sync settings? In all the years I've been using iTunes I've never changed them from Sync Music > 'selected playlists, playlists, albums and genres'. The music files are all 'MPEG Layer 3 Audio'. There are around 1,500 songs in my iTunes library but I have never had more than half of them synced with my phone.

I never had any problem syncing music until I updated the phone to iOS 7. I figured it was a bug which they would fix in a later version but, months later, nothing has changed.

I forgot to mention that I also have an iPod which has no problem syncing the music so I'm fairly certain it's a problem with the phone as opposed to iTunes.

Well you come looking for help so I ask a few questions. If that is too irritating for you then fine. Sure. It's all iOS7's fault.
