    man-city-chelsea-showdown_3075770.jpg?20140131104535

    Sky Sports 1 from 7pm.

    Probable line-ups:

    City:

    Hart

    Zableta--Demichelis--Kompany--Clichy

    Navas--Toure--Fernandinho--Silva

    ----Dzeko
    Negredo----

    Chelsea:

    Cech

    Ivanovic--Cahill--Terry--Azpilucueta

    Matic----Ramires

    Willian---Oscar---Hazard---

    Eto'o

Prediction's? Chelsea to park the yacht? City to continue their free scoring?

Personally can see City's 100% home record ending here.

    hard one to call.

Chelsea (Mourinho) I suspect will try and suck any enjoyment out of the game and turn it into borefest, but I hope City push on and win.

Usual Chelsea sh*tfest....then usual Mourinho antics to deflect away from it.

Hopefully City still pick up the points.

Sky should also bring Allardyce in to do punditry for the laugh.

Nil all draw......... 6 red cards after a big brawl leading to points deduction for both sides.

    Childish I know ! :D

Expect City to be too strong though.

So me and some friends have devised a drinking game for City games.

Take a shot everytime City get a dodgy referee or offside decision.

We expect to be dead of alcohol poisoning by half time.

Don't like neither club, with the way they go about there business in the transfer market, and even tho I like City slightly more than I would Chelsea I am hoping for a win for Mourinhos men so we stay top of the league.

But from an Arsenal perspective, City have a much tougher run-in than Chelsea, I think City need to win this for that reason.

I just feel that a City loss tonight might bring a halt to there impressive form, they are steam rolling teams and I think Chelsea are more likely to drop points unexpectedly than City.

Mourinho to do a West Ham and try to spoil the entertainment by settling for a draw, but unlike when he had his Inter Milan team play 19th century football to defeat Barcelona in the Champs League semi final, I suspect City will be too good for Chelsea.

Perhaps but then think of the confidence boost for Chelsea, along with the easiest run in of all 3 sides...

I guess Arsenal fans are the only ones that might want Chelsea to win and we are divided.

    What about United fans??

Can’t wait for this game tonight.

It is unlikely that parking the bus would work at the Etihad. City would just find a way to score.

Chelsea have to go for it and if they do I reckon they can get something from the game.

    Where is Kolo now?

As a United fan, I hope Chelsea win.

Expecting a City win, they're to good at home to drop points I reckon.

We've lost every game there since about 2009 I'm sure so I cant see that changing tonight.

If it does 3 things will have to happen.

    1) Every Chelsea player to play close to their best
    2) City players to under perform
    3) Get lucky

    Hopefully no 19th century football.

Agree with this. Its not going to affect Man United in the slightest whatever the result so who cares what result they are hoping for.

    1-1 I reckon.

Tough match to call. Jose has a nack of getting the draw but city are so strong now.

Prob won't be the best match but it will be fasinating

Agreed. People are expecting an end to end thriller, with goals galore. Ain't going to happen; Chelsea's tactics will see to that.

*edit* Rumour is that Luiz is in midfield instead of Oscar. Says it all really.

    ha. nice.
    Adrian Healey ‏@AdrianHealey 43m

19th Century Football. That's 2 defs 3 mids & 5 strikers isn't it? Pretty much what Man City seem to be playing at moment.

Mourinho complaining about Man City's spending today lolz

I know he's the ultimate WUM, but for the love of god! I hope City stuff them tonight.

Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany (c), Nastasic, Kolarov, Navas, Demichelis, Toure, Silva, Dzeko, Negredo

Cech; Ivanovic, Terry, Cahill, Azpilicueta; Ramires, Matic, Luiz; Willian, Hazard; Eto'o.

Fernandinho is a big loss for City.

Feeling confident of a win now. No Fernandinho for City.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,725 ✭✭✭✭blueser

Bad news re. Fern missing out tonight. Not as confident now as I was 15 minutes ago.

Chelsea win tonight lads, been singing this tune for a while now.
3-2 to Chelsea, counter mother out of City.
Loving the Ramirez--Matic---Luiz midfield. Hopefully the goods will be produced.
    Come on Chelsea!:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Ill take a 1-0 19th century hypocrite win right now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,605 ✭✭✭Fizman

Jose going for the win, playing Matic instead of Oscar. :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,605 ✭✭✭Fizman

On another note, how can MP play Demichelis in midfield instead of Fernandinho? Madness.

Luiz, Matic and Ramires in midfield. 19th century football anyone?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,881 ✭✭✭TimeToShine

Mou playing 3 defensive midfielders...they may as well park an A380 in front of their goals. Some cheek considering his little speech about WH's negative football.

Ideally a draw but if one team were to win I really hope City stuff them. Hopefully a goal early on to force them to come out and play.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,937 ✭✭✭billy2012

Would love City to really do one on Chelski.

Looking forward too see Matic start, really wanted him at Liverpool.

Javi's injured too. It's between Demichelis and Rodwell really, and Pellegrini loves Demichelis.

We'll see, Jose said it himseslf that it isn't the players who are picked, but the way they play.

Arsenal fan but i don't care, i hope City stuff Chelsea. I really dislike Mourinho and his bus parking antics. Such a hypocrite.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,605 ✭✭✭Fizman

Actually......looking at the benches, imo Chelseas is stronger.

I'm sure Jose will be saying in his post-game interview that Man Citys squad is unbelievable etc etc.
