Very happy with my productive day today. Had my annual exam freak out yesterday so spent most of today studying. I have also made mozzarella stuffed meatballs that are in the slow cooker with a lot of red wine and tomato sauce.

And of course I had to have a glass so it wouldn't go bad.

Busy weekend was busy. Work was frickin' mental. But I finally saw J yesterday and I got a big box of Butlers and an awesome Vals card. It has turtles and puns!

    Love that boy.

Speaking of puppies, I met my friend's Chihuahua pup for the first time yesterday. First real-life Chihuahua meeting - I'm a farmer's daughter, we don't much go in for toy dogs. I was afraid I'd think he was a wee rat of a thing, but he's class!! Delighted to discover he has as much personality as any big dog. And my friend is really good with training and discipline so he's already a total angel even though he's so young.

I could talk about dogs aaallll day long.

I'm 28 and get asked for ID the whole time. Meh, unless I'm in bad form already I just have a laugh when they see the date of birth!

Also, Shakira more or less uses songs as an excuse to make mini porno films, so I'd say she has more than a baby face going for her to be honest!

No it shouldn't! I never carry any!

    Howiyiz loungers!?

I had a bit of a down day. I was super-tired and Mike is sick for the 3rd week running now, it's starting to take its toll on me mentally now even though I've avoided the flu myself.

I brought the babies to the prom and was able to take a huge nap in the afternoon and am feeling like a person again.

I don't either. A close up of the crows feet usually convinces them I need the wine I'm trying to buy. Are you still on maternity leave? I owe you a lunch ;)

I was buying a bottle of wine with the groceries in Tesco yesterday and was asked for ID, I got so flustered! I'm 28 and, having just given birth, hadn't been buying alcohol for a while, so wasn't prepared for the ID thing. I don't even think I look all that young anyways! I ended up giving her my Cineworld card. :D I had nothing else. And I said that if she couldn't take it, grand, don't worry about the wine. But she just laughed and said fine and that she'd "let me away" with it. :o

I had a good day today. A bit of a lie in, a walk with the dog, a cinema trip (& subsequent marathon lego building session) with my little cousin (the lego movie - loved it), nice dinner, relaxing evening... And the first day that I got full value out of my pain killers!!! (For the first time since I got sick, the pain meds got me through to the next dose, rather than being in agony after only an hour or so!).

I'm dire with a hangover. I didn't even have one today, I think my brain just short circuited with nope. I was crying into my porridge. The salt was actually nice in it.

I have a stupid tickly cough. Its been driving me mad. I want it to turn into a proper cough or fcuk off.

Been teaching in a school in London, was teaching PE until Christmas then they asked me back in October to stay on until the end of the year teaching maths which is other subject, and I did because I really like the school. My head of department HoD came into me on Tuesday to say a permanent maths post was advertised in the staff room, apply by tomorrow and the interview would be Thursday. Hummed and hawed over applying but did. Had a performance management observation on the Thursday anyway, which tbh I didn't think it went well at all, and was supposed to have the interview sometime between 2 and 4, so wore my new suit into work. Interview was deferred.

Had my PM meeting Friday morning in my tracksuit and hoodie as I was doing a class of PE, delighted with the feedback despite me nearly being in tears about how badly I thought it went. I think that was because of the experience I had with previous observations in a school that only scraped a good in their last OFSTED, whereas the school I'm in now is outstanding. Was told during the meeting my interview was at 12, so ended up being interview by HoD, assistant head and HR manager wearing tracksuit and hoodie - it was non uniform day so other staff were in casual clothes as well. Applying for a maths job wearing a tracksuit wasn't my ideal situation!

Anyway to cut a long story short, I now have a permanent teaching position in a school I love going into every day :D:D Whole thing felt rushed, but I now have job security, which I would be over four years waiting for here if I was lucky!!! Home for half term until Thursday and relaxing now, will have to read back through weeks of posts, as I've been mentally busy with work and football stuff

Get well soon Rainbowkirby and Mr Das.

    Congrats Rebelgirl!

Yet again my own tiny little man vs food contestant has decided 5.30 is the perfect time to chug a full bottle and 'treat' me to a nappy explosion. The little fecker did the last 2 nights straight through when it was my husbands turn to get up. Good thing she's such a cuddle bug or I'd be feeling even more sorry for myself than I am right now.

Would hit that, I absolutely love pulled pork.

Of all places, Sainsburys do a pork joint (for ripping up into pulled pork) that has most of the slow cooking done, just stick it in the oven wrapped in foil for an hour and it's nearly perfect when it comes out. We've got one that we're going to have during the football tomorrow :D

I kinda made it up as I went along but here you go:

Crush 3 cream crackers in a freezer bag with a rolling pin
Add them, 2 beef stock cubes, shot glass of red wine, dash of worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, oregano and an egg to 500g mince (I used beef).
Smush it all up and leave for ~20mins in the fridge.
Cut your mozzarella into cubes. Take the mince and form the meatballs around the mozzarella (it should be squidgy enough to do this easily enough).
Cover them in clingfilm and leave in the fridge for as long as you like, at least half an hour though.

For the sauce I used a fairly generous amount of red wine, one jar of passata, onions, peppers etc - the passata can be replaced with chopped tomatoes if you prefer - basil (I only had dried) and I also through a bit of smoked bacon into the sauce.

Cook at around 140 (or the equivalent on your slow cooker) for however long you like - I left it for ~4hours.

    DELISH.

Edit - I got ten meatballs slightly larger than a golf ball from this!
