Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I need to start cutting topics. I have no idea where to start.

I can't really help tbh. I'm still overloaded with everything. What are you thinking?

Luas into town and then walk the rest of the way I'd say.

145 bus from Heuston to Kildare St. Passport Office is on the street that runs from the Dail. Bus drops you almost outside there.

Don't wear a shiny white bra under a penneys black top or you'll look like bluewolf

Don't wear a red bra under a translucent blue top. Otherwise you'll look like sullivlo.

The ONE day it's warm in the lab and I'm too scarleh to take off my jumper.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,928 ✭✭✭✭rainbow kirby

Don't wear a pink bra that gives OMGCLEAVAGE under a light grey dress... otherwise you'll be rushing to grab a beige vest top for under the dress to mask it before you leave the house. Then you'll look like kirby.

    Don't wear a bra.

    You'll look like DK.

Nerdgasm. The bacteria found in NYC. So interesting. And a little bit scary / gross.

my granny died this morning and I'm all alone in the house. I haven't been able to reach my husband and feel too weird about calling up friends and family. Even though she was old and ill and so you can't really ask for more, I'm sad. And as selfish as it is, I wish the funeral etc was over. Will not be a fun weekend

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,949 ✭✭✭✭IvyTheTerrible

Oh I'm sorry to hear that Amica.

Don't feel weird about calling a friend or family member, they'll understand.

I know but I'd feel weird - What can they or I say? Not going to make it awkward. I'll just wait til my husband gets home. Maybe I'll make some dinner or something to take my mind off it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,175 ✭✭✭angeldelight

Oh I'm sorry to hear that Amica. Im sure your husband will feel rotten when you get through to him but in the meantime I would call someone else, just so you're not on your own x

Thanks Ivy & angeldelight. It's not his fault. I think his battery must have died or something!

Sorry for your loss Amica. :(

Came here to post that I may actually have to go see 50 Shades. I've been laughing out loud at every trailer I've seen. And they weren't meant to be funny at all which made them even more hilarious.

My mam sent me this earlier:

I'm so sorry Amica, my granny died in october and it's still really hard. Let your friends in, they'll want to be there for you.

Brother got robbed at knife point past night. Second time he's been robbed over on his Erasmus year, but the last one was a pick pocketing. It's making me a bit sick to think of what might have happened if he'd tried his "tough lad" routine. Why do some boys think basic safety rules (like don't walk home alone from your night out) apply to them?

Parents cancelled cards, etc when he rang them after it happened. Then they gave him a lecture this morning on safety, etc. Think my poor mam is a lot more upset than she's letting on!

Jeepers S&S, your poor brother! That must have been terrifying. Hope he's ok!

Pity the parents of the muggers didn't give them a "don't rob people at knife point" lecture.

Poor thing! I think it's always worse when someone is away from home and something like that happens. Where is he on Erasmus?

Someone tell me it's ok to go down to the canteen and get a rasher sambo for secondbreakfast...

Someone tell me it's ok to go down to the canteen and get a rasher sambo for secondbreakfast...

It's very important because if you worry or delay they might move on to lunch and then you'd never have had a rasher sandwich.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,246 ✭✭✭iwantmydinner

Ah here, rasher sambos are practically medicinal.

Thanks, ladies. I think he's just a bit shaken up and hopefully for the sake of my parents' sanity reconsidering walking around alone in the early hours of the morning!

    He's studying in Prague.

There's at least three of us here that do! I find it really interesting and even fun with the right case but it's hard work and you need to be willing to do an awful lot of reading!

I have a law degree and I really enjoyed it, even though it was vastly different to what I'd expected in that it's as important to get to grips with the policy of the law and the reasons for its existence as it is to know the actual legal rules in legislation, etc. The law degree teaches you a framework of thinking and analysing more than anything else! I really loved it, but trying to carve out a career in law is proving very difficult at the moment.

Currently watching tiny man literally stuff his face with blueberry pancakes, you'd swear we never fed him!

I got an article published in a magazine this week, am still buzzing off it that someone thinks my words are good enough to go into a proper shiny publication!
