Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A seagull stole some guys roll on Grafton st today! :pac:

We all laughed. :( Poor guy.

I'd laugh too. Until it was my roll. Then I'd probably cry. Never liked seagulls.

@cena - what tablet is it? A lot of phones / tablets now use the same chargers. E.g. samsung galaxy uses the same charger as a huawei phone and a kindle. May be no harm in trying a few other tech chargers around your house if you have any lying around.

Good luck with the chat sull, sounds like a good thing anyway.

I had an interview, don't feel it went well. But to be honest, I've no idea. Everyone's saying it sounds like it could have gone well. Just a waiting game now!

    Clever!
Dunno why that didn't occur to me.

I'd like a niece. My nephew is one now, I wonder can I start convincing my brother and sister-in-law that they need to have another one?

To stop it crowing in the middle of the night, it gets taken off during the day. None of us actually complained to them, so I'm presuming it pissed them off as much as us.

My aunt gave it to me when I was ten, for ages I couldn't get past the part where she is put in the room for punishment, scared the hell out of me! :)

That right there is a first world problem ;)

Just kidding - if for no other reason, healthy eating / diet / exercise is a fantastic excuse to buy new clothes.

When I piled on the pounds I didn't throw out any of my "skinny" clothes. They're reserved in my wardrobe and I randomly pull out a pair of jeans as my inspiration!

I bought it in Eason for a pound back in the day. It's one of my favourites still. She's a very interesting character. I always found it interesting what it took for her to accept love.

I haven't seen a screen version that does the book proper justice yet.

Once it stays away until I get to this ball, I'm happy!

Exam results are not the be all and end all. I say that from experience. I had a bad LC, repeated 1st year in college, had one failed module in my finals, and I still got job offers (& ultimately a phd).

If you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree it will spend it's life thinking it is stupid (or something - can't remember the full quote).

Chin up. Just do everything in your power to increase your knowledge and it will come good in the end.

Thanks though unfortunately part of the problem with my grades this year is that I already have a job offer dependent on my getting a 2.1 so there's even more pressure than usual.

I suppose I'm just going to have to work even harder but I just really wanted to be able to prove that I'm still the good student that I always was before epilepsy and mental breakdowns. Clearly that is not the case.

What is your field? (If you don't mind me asking! PM if you want)

A lot of companies will understand. Do you have to do a research project?

Also, bear in mind that your published grades may not be your overall result. There were people in my class that had an average of below a 2.1 but were awarded a 2.1.

How far off a 2.1 are we talking? And do you have more exams this year?

I have considered giving zumba a go. Is it hard? I'm taking up a class, was considering kettlebells but zumba seems to be more fun.

I wouldn't be letting that hold you back if you're already reasonably active. No harm in trying something new :)

I wouldn't be too worried about that. Everyone is there for the same reason to get fit and have a bit of fun.

I'm studying law and I have a training with one of the big firms set up dependent on the 2.1. No research project but unfortunately I do have another 3/4 years worth of learning and exams to face so I'm already petrified about that. It's also probably why they expect the grades.

I've gotten results for two of the modules which were five credits each and got a 50 and a 57 so a low enough 2.2 so far. I have three results left to get so I could see a miracle but based on how I feel the exams went I really doubt it. I have four more modules this semester so I could scrape the 60 but it's really not going to be easy especially when this has hit me so hard.

In my final year we could go in and talk to lecturers about exam results on a particular day and go through the papers and argue our cases
I went up a good few marks
