Travelling solo to Oz in June 2014

I am thinking of travelling to Australia for a month in June 2014, I hav nobody to travel with and so i was wondering has anyone travelled there alone before? Any tips, where is best part to go to? What to do if travelling solo etc. Thanks

it gets very cold down south,i would buy lonely planet guide book.even a used one,it gets cold and wet in melborne
