What is the process for applying for a mortgage to purchase residential property for private use in Ireland whilst currently being employed and working in a fulltime position in Australian public health system?

My wife is an Irish National with current passport, all her family are living and working in Ireland. We currently return to Ireland twice a year and are planning to retire in Ireland. We have located a residential property which we would like to take a mortgage out on. We have sufficient level of deposit available and secure employment, the Australian banks will not approve applications for mortgages on overseas properties.

    Hi AustPhysio,

Thank you for contacting us through Boards.ie.

You would be best off speaking with a customer adviser directly about applying for a mortgage with us from abroad.  They will be happy to discuss the application process with you in more detail.  You can speak to an adviser by contacting one of our branches directly or you can request a call back here.

To find the contact details for one of our branches please see here.

    Many thanks

    Seán
