unless you have a paid linked in account you cant see peoples profiles so it will die out soon

twitter or facebook would not take the place of cv

I would imagine the prospective employer just wants to have a quick look and see if you every second Monday morning status update is:
Duvet day! F**king wrecked man! Rang in sick! Suckers!
Accompanied by a picture of you on the sofa surrounded by empty cans and takeaway debris.

Can someone link the job add that sparked all this :-)

Any chance that social media is part of the role?

the OP had emailed me the job link. But it is gone now. The ad had said linkedin twitter or Facebook.

Cant remember what the company was to be honest. Didn't see a mention of social media as part of the role in the job ad

Just reading it now, and it says
Question 1: What do you think makes you different from other candidates?
Question 2: What is your favourite aspect of our business and why?
Question 3: How do you define “good customer service?”
All applicants must answer the above questions in detail and provide their LinkedIn, Twitter or Facebook profile names, please do not send CV’s.

    Also, when a job says
We are looking for someone who can work flexible hours. We need someone friendly, reliable and hardworking – is this you?
I find that flexible hours = little hours.
