    We can't given legal advice here.

    But the bottom line is that the standards in your industry are changing: either you need to upgrade your qualification so you are still employable, or they will have to make you redundant. Your manager cannot just magically make the regulations go away.

    And realistically, if you want to keep working in the sector longer term, you probably need to have your eye on a Level 8 qual: if you want to be seen as more than just "slave labour" you're going to have to be qualified, registered professionals, not just nice people who've done a few short courses.

    Have you gone to the manager with a concrete proposal that would make it possible for you to do the training? Possibly you need to move from a leaders jobs back to an assistant's job, so you have time to study.

    Also, as the leader, what have you put in place to enable your assistants to do further training?
