    Hi Guys

I have bought a tv from you before. Coming back for more!

I am looking for a 40-42 inch  Smart Tv, built in wifi, with great sound. Freesat/saorview for use in Ireland too. I really need great sound as one of the people using the tv has severe hearing loss.

Any suggestions? Any good deals on at the mo?

    Cheers,
    Pixied

Hi Pixied, thanks for the post.

The problem here is great sound. There genuinely is not a modern TV that I would recommend as having great sound.

The only solution would be to buy a soundbar/surround system which would improve it greatly.

Can you cope with an extra speaker and do you absolutely want freesat as it will push the budget up as there are very few that have it on-board ?

We can supply a very cost effective freesat box which you could add to any TV.

Let me know what you think.

My great Aunt was nearly deaf bless her and we found that a  wireless headset let her watch TV without the rest of us suffering hearing damage !

    Very good call there :)

Excellent choice for anyone with bad hearing, or if you're up late and don't want to wake the rest of the house up.  Or get the noise Police round.

    Thanks Guys :)

I realise the tv will not have top end sound without a sound bar, I guess I was looking for the best of the bunch without having to get a soundbar. Nothing tinny.

    1. What are/is the best option smart tv, 40-42, with decent sound, wifi built in and Saorview?
    2. What is the best opton Smart Tv if I were to buy it with a basic soundbar?

Thanks for the info on the headphone, its for a younger member and I dont think they will wear them. We have a transmitter which we can plug into our tv at the moment which connects with the hearing aids directly but its not always handy to use.

Hi Pix, the best option although not necessarily the cheapest option would be the Sony KDL 42W653.

This is a 200HZ LED with wifi on board, Saorview approved, great picture and pretty decent sound.

    http://www.richersounds.com/product/tv---all/sony/bravia-kdl42w653a/sony-kdl42w653abu

This is priced at £489.95 with delivery at £19.95.

I would consider this to be the best TV that we would have that is less than £500.

If you are looking to stay on a budget then I would suggest going for the Philips HTL2100. It's priced at £79.95 which really isn't a lot to spend on a soundbar but for £79.95 it will improve the TV sound by a reasonable degree.

We could deliver this for free when ordered with the TV.

Let me know what you think of these two.

    Many thanks

    Thanks Dave!

Is the Sony superior to the Samsungs you have? Someone mentioned to me that Samsung have passed out the Bravias in quality and in terms of the Smart Hub. Is this a fair comment?

    Cheers again,
    Pix

    Hi Pixied.

The Samsung does have more features for its smart side of things and in the higher range screens Samsung have a better picture but in saying that the 8 and 9 series Sony's are fantastic screens and if just not as good, there is very little in it.
Sony tends to have the better sound quality.

Which Samsung had you been looking at?
There is the Samsung UE40F5500 which is priced at £449.00

However the Sony 42" above would be every bit as good as the 40" Samsung apart from the smart features.

    Cheers Kenny!

Does the Samsung come in a 42 inch?
The link for the above says £449- which is correct?

What soundbar would you recommend for the Samsung? (low to mid range budget)

    Cheers!

Unfortunately the Samsung screens do not come in a 42" that we stock. Only none smart in the 42".

You should have a look at the Yamaha YHTS401 priced at £295.00
    http://www.richersounds.com/product/soundbars/yamaha/yhts401/yama-yhts401

Or even the Cambridge Minx TV priced at £199.95

Two different products but both sound really well!
