Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Ideal scenario:

Liverpool, worried about losing fourth place will lose today to Arsenal, who are determined to keep their place at the top of the league.

As expected Man United will beat Fulham on Sunday, and Fulham will host Liverpool at craven cottage in midweek, desperate for a win.

Fulham may sneak a draw or get that vital win.

United will beat Arsenal midweek, as that`s what usually happens.

All of a sudden, United are only one or two points behind Liverpool!!

That isn't an unrealistic scenario tbh!

I can't find stats like that but didn't Liverpool have 10 points after 4 games and arsenal had 9 but you have them top.

For some odd reason the 1st game seems to be excluded. Copied it from the paper.

Don't think it changes the pattern though.

I guess allen isint fit enough to start unfortunately. Hopefully cou has as good a game in midfield like against everton!

Not happy with that team. Allen should be playing and Coutinho should not imo.

Oh dear, Coutinho better be as good as he was against Everton.

Doesn't look a bad Liverpool side except for the make shift defense caused by injury. Would have had Moses in there for countiho but besides that I think a suspected line up.

At the emirates, Liverpool were awful and their midfield was as bad as practically any team I've seen this year. Maybe just an off day but Gerard looked pedestrian. Can see Arsenal having such an advantage here that can't see past an Arsenal win.

You've obviously not seen Moses play much this season.
Allen would be the one if Coutinho was dropped.

But I'd prefer Gibbs to Monreal. That is the weak link in the Arsenal back 4.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,605 ✭✭✭Fizman

Hoping for Sterling to terrorise their left side today.

Very hard outcome to call, both teams to score. We need monster performance from our midfield again the same as the were v Everton iflLiverpool are to get anything out of this.

    3-1 to Arsenal.

Suarez seems to go missing in the big games and Liverpool have a very poor record against the top teams.

Same as. Liverpool could get some joy here. Really prefer Gibbs.

Think that's a naieve lineup from Rodgers. Allen would be better than Coutinho in midfield and could help stop Arsenal bossing there again.

Surprised monreal starts over Gibbs again. Our left side is definitely our weak link. Would have also started rosicky, can see us starting very slow again today as a result

Aparantly Utd, City, Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea, Everton and Newcastle are all small teams :)

Bitter posts like that are my favourite on boards

Cannot see how Arsenal will not over-run is in Midfield & murder us on the counter. Would have preferred another body in there

Don't think many Arsenal fans hold that view of Luis Suarez to be fair. We didn't try to buy him for goals against the 'smaller' teams.

we like to try and enforce our own game on opposition it seems to be Rodgers philosophy. He will never try and counteract or stifle better opposition teams which maybe he needs to learn how to do as 9 times out of 10 you will lose to the better side when trying to beat them at their own game.

    Suarez first goalscorer

The interviewers on TV today are shocking.

Stubbs just asked Wenger "Do you think whoever has most control of the ball today has the biggest chance of winning?"

    Seriously, what a stupid question.

No questioning of line-up, tactics etc.

    6/4 sturridge anytime.

    And the last Arsenal game.

I sill fear Suarez could do us damage though. Expecting a good game today and hoping for a thread not full of bitchyness.

Sounds a bit dumb especially as Liverpool has shown they can win with less possession than the opposition!

Yep, it's a very cliched question to ask, both teams aren't as obsessed with controlling possession as before.

Find most of those interviews to be cliches and something they just have to do and don't really ask pertinent questions.
