Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Attempted repair. Now the mic, home button and charging doesn't work!

The title pretty much says it all. I had to open up my iPhone 4 to remove the sim card (the tray is jammed). It seemed to go fairly smoothly, but now the microphone and home button have stopped working, and the phone no longer charges. I'm pretty sure the problems are connected, it's probably just the one culprit, but I can't figure out what it is. I've tried changing the battery, and I also replaced the dock connector, but the problem persists.

    Any help would be appreciated.

My phone hasn't been working for a month, and after this post I decide to route around a little more. I cleaned some of the connections using some Lynx (it has alcohol in it) sprayed on a cotton bud. It worked! Thanks any guys. Hopefully this will help someone else.

Lynx is probably not the best idea as I'm pretty sure it's conductive.
    Try isopropanol next time.
