Worried about a pedal bicyclist knocking your Mocha soy frappuccino light blended coffee with an extra shot of foam and whipped cream out of your hand while walking on the pathway?

Well, harden the f--k up! :D

Sorry, but can it await the healing of my 2 broken wrists, numerous breaks in the cheekbone, suspected broken jawbone, 2 breaks in the back, and various bit of roadrash suffered last week, as I'm currently feeling a little "delicate". AFAIK I did no damage to the tarmac when I came off though.

(promise to try and harden up whenever I manage to get back on the bike though).

Can we not hear about the "two-wheeled menace" outside of this sample area?

Sure..i was at Glendalough a couple of weekends ago and the (extrmely narrow) roads were blocked with groups of cyclists travelling three and four abreast, extremely dangerous carry-on and absolutely done with the intention to provoke motorists.

course it was....cos yer so important

prob more to do with ensuring motorists overtook in a safe manner and not just being able to squeeze by leaving everybody in a danger if they met an oncoming car.

Indeed sure isnt glendalough one of the biggest motorways in Ireland and thats why you would drive through there in a hurry.

Four abreast on an extremely narrow road? So did the two on the other side of the road not see the oncoming traffic? :pac:

On 'extremely narrow' roads, one cyclist is more than enough to hold up traffic. So cyclists going 3 or 4 abreast are actually making it easier for cars to overtake. On those narrow winding roads, the only chance of making a successful overtake is where you get a short straight stretch. It is much easier to overtake 3-4 cyclists abreast than a long line of 3-4 cyclists in line. It is certainly much easier to overtake a group of 16 cyclists when they are in a group of 3-4 abreast. A long line of 16 cyclists will be completely impossible to overtake safely on any rural Irish road.

But prefer to go round on peddle-cycles in order to avoid little things like red lights etc?

Another one? Why would I want two cars? It's hard enough finding space on my driveway for one.

Tell me about it, offloaded 2 gas guzzlers for a more sensible, smaller diesel. best thing I ever did. Leaves more money for bikes and accessories. :pac:

No, prefer to cycle around because it's good for one's health, it's as quick as commuting by car for me and it's an enjoyable means of travel.

You should try it some time, you'd LOVE it

There's a cyclist in him bursting to get out....:pac:. Go on Chopper6, you know you want to.....(if you break a red light, we won't tell anyone....)

You can make no such guarantee, and it is, in fact, a baseless accusation that he is picking on a woman for being a woman. What I can guarantee you, is that I would have reacted similarly, whether it was a man or a woman. I probably wouldn't have stood there for as long arguing with her though.

He shouldn't have been f'ing and blinding at her, but she was completely in the wrong and he had every right to tell her she was on the wrong side of the road. Her behaviour was caused by the fact that she didn't want to allow a cyclist to have the right to use to road, I doubt she'd have behaved like that if it was a car oncoming. He shouldn't have to go onto the wrong side of the road to weave around a car and then risk coming face to face with oncoming traffic that was on the correct side of the road.

Having faced such morons both on a bike and in a car, I'd safely say the idiot would have driven blithely on regardless of what was in front of her. Right of way isn't something that even remotely registers on her radar.

She's an ignorant moron who doesn't understand right of way and he's obnoxious (even if he is right in principle)

Not to speak for everyone, but I'd say there's no argument from anyone there. There's idiots in every walk of life.

There's only so many ways that Chopper can get across his love of cyclists and I think that limit had been reached. There's not a whole lot left to justify this thread.
