Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Fulham seem content to let United have the ball

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,358 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

the thing is, Utd are annihilating Fulham here.

but the stone age tactics in the final third from Utd is what is solely costing them.

Course, they know what we will do with it.

That Fulham back four are going to have some sore heads tomorrow morning.

Fulham are defending with 5 centre backs, why the hell would they keep crossing it ffs use yer heads

They're too short against the Fulham center halves to use their heads.

Is there Anything to be said for trying another cross?!

I've a serious question and please please don't think I'm trying to troll United fans because I'm not.

When Liverpool were playing like this and in this kind of position(last season included) was it funny for United fans? I'm genuinely not even taking pleasure in this, I just feel bad for the real United fans who are having to put up with it.

Ah would you go away out of that. United fans have no divine right to success, as with fans of any other club. If there club was dying then perhaps I'd have sympathy, but a poor season? Not a hope.

It's been a long time coming and it won't last all that long. Enjoy it while you can

I'd imagine the crowd will let rip at half time, Moyes looks out of his depth.

How many times have Fulham made a poor attempt at a clearance and left the ball in their own penalty area? Whatever about tactics there should surely be someone to get to those season balls?

We're one dodgy pass from being caught on the break.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,830 ✭✭✭✭Nalz

Have we passed the ball forward in the box on the ground at all yet?

    Spread play cross cross cross

    Tough to break down Fulham

Young, in acres, misses every utd player and hits the fb on the other side. Symptomatic of the decline.

    United should sign crouch

Good a freekick, a chance to put in a cross

Young should be told to sit down for himself, bring on Jan or Kags

Richardson looks hold. United should sign him up.

Rooney must wonder how many positions he needs to play here!

    Sobering half of football that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,308 ✭✭✭Pyjamarama

Utd fans have every right to be very cross at this performance so far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,920 ✭✭✭Sugarlumps

When Fulham do get forward they look more likely to score? Which is nuts.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,337 ✭✭✭✭monkey9

Moyes's tactics board at half time will probably just say 'More Crossing.'

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,710 ✭✭✭✭Paully D

    Cross, clear, hoof - repeat

    Cross, clear, hoof - repeat

    Cross, clear, hoof - repeat

    Cross, clear, hoof - repeat

    Cross, clear, hoof - repeat

No penetration, no invention. Fulham are bottom of the league and have a number of second choice players playing. Madness.

For Utd's crosses even he would be too small.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,661 ✭✭✭Fuhrer

Moyes just going over his notes for his half time team talk, crossing a lot of t's

I think they've had enough crosses!

Lads, I've been one of those that will say give Moyes time. But that last 45 mins of football it's hard not to comprehensively feel he hasn't a clue what he's doing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,190 ✭✭✭✭IvySlayer

Sign Crouch? Why not get Tony Pulis in to perfect the hoof/cross combination

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,017 ✭✭✭Chagan

The fact that this crap is in no way a surprise says it all. I wouldn't be shocked if our response is to bring on Giggs either.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,480 ✭✭✭Chancer3001

Actually if Rooney jumps up on mata's shoulders for the second half, might be worth a go.

And miss out on a trip to Dubai? No chance

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,704 ✭✭✭Corvo

I don't know what's worse - watching Valencia in every other game trying to cross and hitting the full back or pretty much every player in this game crossing and nothing happening.

Fulham bottom team with the worst goal difference in the entire league winning 1-0 where they haven't won in 51 years.

    Great stuff altogether :D

Has anyone considered the possibility that Fergie decided to **** Utd over for a reason we don't know about?

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,868 ✭✭✭Andersonisgod

Surely with players like Rooney, Van Persie and Mata in the side the only outlet of attack can't be looping crosses into the box? Especially when Fulham have a very tall centre back who is far more comfortable dealing with that kind of attack than nippy passes in and around his feet. I'm not sure that I've ever seen Man Utd been so one dimensional.

They may go on to win this game because in the end quality should count but Moyes has to be questioned if this is all he has to offer.

When David Moyes plays chess, he only attacks with bishops.

Fulham's defence are sitting incredibly deep, there's so much room around the box. If Moyes wants to cross the ball so much, and that does make sense against a defence sitting so deep, then he should stick Young on the right.

You wouldn't see as many crosses in a gift shop in Knock.

All the possession in the world but the play is so one dimensional, get the ball, pass, stand still & watch as it's knocked in aimlessly for Fulham to clear.

Utd will probably scrape a 2-1 win and the cracks will be papered over again.
