Hi Guys
Im on the lookout for a decent drill for general DIY and about the house work and wondering if you can point me in the direction of anything good priced, circa €100.

Ive bought cheap argos drills in the past that tend to give up after awhile so would rather something thats going to last a bit of time if possible

are you looking for drill or cordless drill?

i can recommend fatmax from argos, but you need to wait for another price drop (it is around ~135 for most of the time now)

their regular drill isn't bad but it is hardly a bargain with their €60 savings

there are also cordless drills in the lidl and aldi at the moment

as for batteries - fatmax is li-ion (very light but don't work at all below zero temperatures) aldi is ni-cd (heavier but work at any temperature, good for quick discharge)

another thing - both lidl and aldi ones have only one battery so you need to remember to recharge it before work if left for more than month or so, fatmax has two (but after one year use they lost almost a half of the capacity, and you can't get batteries anywhere*)

*it is cheaper to get new drill & batteries

It's a cordless one I'm after, no real need for hammer action as I have a separate corded one already

B&Q do cordless Bosch, Makita & DeWalt 18v hammer drills for €129 all the time. Sometimes they are €115.
