    WTF is that?

USB3 plugs are backward compatible to USB2.

USB Micro 3 plug - physically different connector than Micro USB 2.

You get the micro usb3 to standard Type A usb 2/3 converter dongle - but yeah, you should be able use a normal micro usb 2 cable also for USB2 mode.

Also came with Nero 10 - which is ok.

Yes, but they have reduced the toshiba 1TB to €50 also. So that's still good IMO.

Got herself to pop into blanch just there and they have 320, 500, 1t and 2t in stock, the prices are a bit different €27, €32, €59 and €89, could be a € more.

They have the 500 in Seagate and Toshiba for €32, got the Toshiba.

In blanch now. They have 4 of the Toshiba 1TB ones but they have gone up to €59.99. I just picked up the last Seagate 1TB for €49.99.

Ran by today and got two 1TB drives, only seen a few 320's left on display. The girl in the store had to go to the stock room to get the TB drives. No 500 gig drives left

I got a 1TB portable for 33 earlier today might have been the last one. There was none at all when I tried earlier in the week. So I dunno where these last few came from. Its a Seagate Backup Plus enclosure, like this

Had them check it and scan it - came up120 euros on scan- showed them your email saying it was 50 - said could even have been mistake but 90 is the sale price for the 2tb seagate 3.5 inch drives. This was at 3:30pm sunday (today). 50ish would have been good but 90 is a bit much.

Seems that you just get lucky with the pricing. Maybe they'll bring out more stock with the reduced pricing

I'm looking for a 1tb 2.5" drive and found this rather old thread. May I ask about the €50 1tb Toshiba drives (there might be some of those still around)....Can I take the drive out of it and put it into a laptop? I'm worried about that funky Micro USB 3 connector.......

I'm sure they exist - I keep hearing about them.

But of all the 2.5" drives I got for myself and others over the years (maybe 5 or 6) - I've never got one where the usb didn't come off.

The boards are really tiny and sometimes stuck with a bit of metalic tape - but they all so far easily separated for me. I'm sure it would be More expensive for them to make and keep stock up of a non standard drive that's useless for any other product they might have on the go.

Toshiba, Seagate and WD. Id be looking at SSD now though to replace any laptop drives.

Well it's actually for a xbox 360 but I didn't want to complicate things too much! :)

I believe with the advent of the RGH mod that any 2.5" drive will work.
