Her career's in the crapper of late, so she's taking Simon's big fat pay cheque to promote whatever her new 'comeback' single is going to be.

It's as if I'm clairvoyant or something! What shocking news.... Cheryl will be releasing her new album in November - slap bang in the middle of the new series: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/news/a573590/cheryl-cole-new-album-for-november-release.html#~oFtAMdrTWnMUMs
Cheryl Cole has confirmed the release of her fourth solo album.

The singer will release the follow-up to 2012's A Million Lights later this year, followed by lead single 'Crazy Stupid Love'.

"The perfume launches in August and the album in November," Cheryl told Hello! magazine.

I'm not sure how many fans Caroline Flack has here, but herself and Olly made Xtra Factor more watchable than the main show for me, Matt did a solid job trying to fill Olly's shoes last year, but now there will only be one presenter for the next season and it's not even 100% going to be Caroline. Think I'll be skipping Xtra Factor altogether if she doesn't get it. Seems like change for the sake of making a change. :(

According to that article it's going to be a solo woman. I know it's never going to happen but I want Holly back.

Sweet Jesus. That's an even worse prospect than Ry**n, Joey Essex or Mark Wright. :(:(:(:(:D

If it's not going to be Caroline (and I have said before that three years is the maximum length of time for an Xtra Factor presenter, if the past is anything to go by), then it's probably most likely to be Laura Whitmore or Christine Bleakley.

    Christine Bleakley would be awful

Heard on the radio earlier that Caroline tweeted a picture today of her Xtra Factor script.

Heard on the radio earlier that Caroline tweeted a picture today of her Xtra Factor script.

To be pedantic, she put it on her Instagram.

And I wouldn't say it's an Xtra Factor script, somehow... :o;)

I'm pretty sure it's the script for this year's Soccer Aid, which takes place on Sunday.

She'll be reporting from the BT Tower while Dermot hosts from Old Trafford, alongside Kirsty Gallacher.

Dermot and Caroline should present both shows together :p

Not a bad suggestion, but somehow I can't see it becoming reality. :o:);)

I wouldn't say Dermot has much interest in presenting the Xtra Factor as well as the main show.

And I'd say most people are so used to him being the sole main host of the main show that they probably wouldn't be tremendously happy if he had to share the stage with a co-host, even if it was Caroline.

(I chose my words carefully there - she did of course turn up on the live episodes last year, but only to chat to the acts backstage and to friends, family and fans in attendance. ;))

Shaping up to be the worse ever panel. Can't bloody stand Mel B.

She is very gobby so I hope she tears into Cheryl :p

Are you calling it the worst ever panel based on who's actually in it, rather than on its quality? Just wondering. :)

So no judge from outside Britain and Ireland for the first time since 2006. Back then, the panel consisted only of Simon, Louis and Sharon - plus Kate Thornton was the host... :D

    Here's BBC Newsbeat's report:

I think Mel B is a good appointment. I enjoyed when she filled in a few times. Tells it straight, but is funny with it too! It could go either way how she'll get on with Louis which should be fun to watch!

She just seems to be there for the craic, I don't think she ever has anything to promote!! :pac:

So Caroline has confirmed that she's leaving Xtra Factor. The new host is someone called Sarah-Jane Crawford??

And I'm probably not the only one who can't help but feel that it wasn't Caroline's decision to leave - that ITV and Syco told her, "You've done it for three years, so it's time to let another lady have a go"... :o  ;)

Especially when that ITV article doesn't mention her at all.

That they've chosen as her replacement a relative unknown - whose biggest claim to fame is hosting a show on a radio station specialising in urban music - is a big surprise. I presume she'll also be reporting from backstage during the live shows?

Maybe they should just cancel the Xtra show

Sarah-Jane is excellent, looking forward to seeing how she does.

Shocked by this Sarah-Jane's appointment too, huh? :);)

But even if she turns out to be as unpopular as Konnie Huq was, I can't see the Xtra Factor being cancelled until that happens to the main show...

Gonna miss Caroline. Mind you, I only tuned in for the judges questions and that was it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 58,456 ✭✭✭✭ibarelycare

I think I only watched one episode of Xtra Factor last year, and that was the last one, just to see the voting trends, and who the judges predicted to win.

Yes without Olly I didn't really have much interest either
