Hi,we are visiting ireland, housesitting for a friend. We went to pay the prepaid today and got the receit on purchase, but not the code for the box. We still have the reciet here, which states we made the purchase, time and date. We tried calling, but we can't get through. There is 80 cent left on the box and we can't pay anymore than the 30 euros we already spent. And we were not the ones who made a mistake, the kid behind the clerk was the one who forgot to didn't hand us the code-ticket. I hope you can help us sort this out so we don't freeze to death. We have the receit,so you should be able to help us. thank you

    Hi Ulf,

Thank you for getting in touch with this query. There is emergency credit of €5 available in the meter to give you time to purchase a code when you run out of power. This €5 will be then subtracted from your next vend.

There are also ‘credit friendly’ hours in place for PAYG meters, so that you’re not left without power in an emergency situation. These times are from 4pm on Friday to 9am on Monday morning and 4pm to 9am each evening during Winter (5pm to 10am in Summer). Any credit used in this time will also be subtracted from your next vend. If you contact the shop today to retrieve your top-up, please note that the credit used up over the weekend will be subtracted.

If you’ve any further questions, please let us know.

    Kind regards,
    Aoife
