As the breeder started your pup on Beta you'll have to stick with that for the moment. The ingredients aren't great in fairness. For example cereals are more than there so-called 'meat'.

I don't know much about specific large breed foods - someone else on here might fill you in.

From Purina-Beta website Puppy Large Breed with Turkey:

Composition: Cereals (wholegrain 20%), Meat and animal derivatives (meat 14%, turkey 4%), Vegetable protein extracts, Oils and fats, Derivatives of vegetable origin (dried beet pulp 1.1%), Vegetables (dried chicory root 1.1%), Minerals.

Compared to say Barking Heads Little Big Foot (Large Breed Puppy) which has 50% chicken and salmon:

Composition* Boneless Chicken*, Dried Chicken*, Brown Rice, Dried Potato, Pea Starch, Oats, Boneless Salmon*, High Omega 3 Trout, Pea Protein, Chicken Fat, Dried Egg, Natural Flavours, Salmon Oil, Lucerne, Seaweed, Hip & Joint Care Pack+ (Glucosamine 410mg/kg, MSM 410mg/kg, Chondroitin 290mg/kg), Carrot, MOS, FOS (*total 50% chicken)

Do your dog the biggest favour ever and feed raw food as he will thrive on it and so will your pocket with slashed vets fees , rem dog food was only started in the late 40,s and a lot of disease and problems with it same as us and fast food
