Gusts have eased slightly here and the lull between violent gusts have increased here in Durrow.

That's a very high figure for such an inland station.

    And traditionally quite sheltered also.

Is that it over now for Cork and the southern coastal regions or is a second wave due ?
It seems to have switched to just a little bit blustery now in Cork City. Certainly isn't violently stormy anymore.

Crazy that tipp only got a yellow status, the place is in bits.

    Major fcuk up there!

Beginning to think these colour coded warnings are just getting a bit silly now. Text forecast was for strong winds everywhere, but many people seem to be judging the weather by a colour. As was said yesterday on here, how on earth did we survive without these 3 little colour warnings.

It has settled down in Carrick-on-Suir now, still the odd gust of wind but nothing like it was an hour ago.
MT's timeline was very accurate, it really seemed like the worst hit here between 1:30 and 3 and it has moved on now.
I'd still be careful on your travels though, trees down, patio furniture blowing around the place etc.

Just gotten wild now in Trim, had been nothing more than breezy since some strong gusts this morning. Think this is the start of it.

If they're going to introduce a proper warning system like they have done, then they need to stick to it and be consistent, and warn people in certain areas of 100mph winds.

Was changed to Red (Munster) at 1400 but a bit too late to be of any use..

WAY to late. What is the point in upgrading during the activity.
This has been a major disaster by Met Eireann. It is beyond disgraceful how they missed the severitiy of the storm in parts.
    Putting people's lives at risk.
    Absolute shambles.

Still very strong gusts of wind in Athy. Can't see too far but what I can see is mostly minimal damage if any at all. Slates being whipped off my apartment roof so hopefully noone gets hurt. Car almost got a whack of one in the side windows but feck it, it's only a car. Lots of flickering of lights tho.

Decided to have a quick shower just incase the power goes and low and behold just as i stepped in the power went. Its back now though , I'm in Edenderry and we never get any proper wind usually but its starting to pick up now and the garden fence is bowed out so i cant see that lasting much longer. You would swear we were beside the coast with the noise of the wind outside.

Only worry now is the girlfriend has to drive home from Portlaoise at 4 its only 20mile but the roads are cat on a regular day never mind today just rang her 15 min ago and told her to leave now before it gets any worse.

Unbelievable stuff altogether i'v been lurking around this forum since 2008 and never seen the likes of it before - wind wise.

Don't know how the power lines were staying up here. They were dancing and tugging like mad but haven't come down yet. And the road half flooded from the rain. Absolutely mad periods of wind here but worst seemed to have passed in a matter of 5 minutes, no so bad for a while now. In the middle of it all workmen installing water meters (unannounced) ! Hope the lines don't come down on them. Oh they are not happy by the sounds of it !

Actually dying down a good bit now as I type.

sh1twinds beginning to pick up here in Dublin 12...

Mr. Lahey: Do you know what a **** Barometer is, boy?
    Bubbles: What?
Mr. Lahey: Measures the **** Pressure in the air. When the Barometer rises, and you'll feel it too, your ears will implode with the **** Pressure. I tried to warm you, Bubs, but you picked the wrong side! Beware, the **** Winds are a-comin'.

    Limerick City North side.

Things dying down a bit but still the odd gust. The North Circular Road is pretty badly hit. A couple of very old big trees down near the old Jim's Shop. More down (smaller ones) near Villiers. And beyond. A couple of trees down in Russel Park. Bits and pieces that would normally be considered big debris all over the place.

There's an electricity wire down across the front of the JFK School (NCR side) and apparently part of the roof of gym in Ard Scoil Ris (apparently - 3rd or 4th hand information) has blown off.

There are two huge trees down at the junction of the NCR and Condell Road trafflic lights.

Thank GOD nobody was hurt here or worse.

And just to say at this juncture a HUGE big thanks to MT, Maquiladora and all of the other stalworths here who put in so much work and effort. You provide us with so much information that is accurate and precise. Thank you so much.
