To whoever recommended 147 on Parnell street, thanks. Had past it before but never thought to look in. Was there yesterday and had the Reuben and French onion soup and it was delicious. Ill be back to try the pork.

Good to hear, I will have to get to it myself soon.

Pho Viet - on Parnell St, just off O'Connell St - beside Dance World, on east side! Fantastic Vietnamese food.

Second all the oftmentioneds: Romanos, Brother Hub, Mushashi, Paris Bakery.
Clodagh's cafe in Arnotts not half bad sandwiches on Arun sourdough; that said, Epicurean Food Hall probably well worth the walk across the Luas tracks.

    Eason's cafe
    Grand Central
    Gresham
Upstairs in The oval (abbey st)
    The lotts (liffey st)
    101 talbot
    Panama (on Bachelor's walk)
    Bar Italia
    Arnotts
    Tearooms in Clerys.

Pho viet raised their prices from €6.75 to €9.50 for the same dishes haven't been back since.
Customers told them they were charging too little my Bxxxlix.
    Voted with my feet.

Epicurean food hall is good and cheap. It's not fine dining if you know what I mean, but there's tasty stuff to be got. Koh around the corner is excellent.

+1, great selection and nice prices.

Also, Itsa Bagel in just inside the Abbey Street entrance to Arnotts, their Ruben and Holy Cow are fantastic.

little bit further but Star Pizza, bottom of talbot street. EUR5, 9", 2 toppings, drink, hand full of chips and a sauce!

It's a load of food for €5, but terrible quality. Though what would you expect for that price (and I'm not being snobby, I've eaten there a few times!)

Resurrecting this - anyone know anywhere decent in D1 to get a salad/healthy lunch?

Something along the lines of KC Peaches.

Toss'd in the CHQ is all I'm coming up with.

Are you seriously suggesting KFC for a salad/healthy lunch?

Greek buffet in the Epicurean, lots of salad & veg options.
    Itsa in Arnotts.
Govinda's in Abbey St (I prefer the one in Dublin 2 though).

i like Flanagans on o connel st,they serve steaks, pizzas, wraps and Sambos soups, stews and lovely deserts, and it sure beats dining canteen style in arnotts.Kylemore cafe deserves a mention also but it can be a bit packed sometimes

Tried Itsaa today, had the Chicken Ceasar Salad. Small enough and overpriced @ €5.95 imo. Paid €1.75 for 500ml Volvic but that's my own fault for not bringing some with. I'll try the Greek Buffet tomorrow. - €7 I think?

Very very hard to get something for lunch around OCS that's priced reasonably and doesn't contain bread or pasta. :(

I agree. As a veggie, I count on the Greek buffet as my favourite.
