Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just after doing the costings for rearing the calves to weaning. I did not include the purchase price for the calf or a figure for labour or profit from the sale of any calves. I just took direct inputs, milk replacer, meal, hay& straw, esb, vaccines, meds, losses etc.
    €63.33 per calf.

I did the figures over the full batch of calves. Oldest of them would be Dec 2013 and the youngest ones are first week in April.

I'd say the search party could head to Louis Blessing's*, and if you ramble in later, we can declare you "Found"!:D

    Seems on track...
From memory (as I'm not at home) we had a cost of ~€170 for 14 months rearing.

A paper never refuses ink - especially the journal.

Just after doing a 3 mile (might be generous to my stamina there) jog this morning. I don't know if I have an illness bit as one boardie here is called "exercise is the antidote"

Ps. I would be 3 or 4 stone frpm being an athletic build

    Well done, that's good going.

There's no harm in having a chat and cycle, the racer lads might have been coming home from a spin. You can spin along at 40kph and chat away handy enough. And test your fitness and keep chatting up a hill;) Cycling in company is great, you go further and faster than on your own. Provided you're all on the same page!

My bike is heavier than 20kg, and a racer, and I am pushing 300k a week now, winding it up during the summer. No sympathy for that here! Although if i had the chance I'd get a lighter bike in a heartbeat.
There are cycling clubs in Mayo maybe have a look and try out the Sunday spin. You have to have a racer/road bike though. Did you go for any you were looking at?
