Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I think Willian will start over Salah, other than that I'd hope we can win and put pressure on City, Arsenal and Liverpool to keep up.

    2-0 chelsea

West Brom are not playing well at all. Chelsea should win here. Hopefully keep another clean sheet.

Would like to see Salah start, to be honest. Perfect game for him to start. If it's not working out, stick Willian on at HT.

As long as we dont drop to many from the starting XI I'll be happy.

Was it Southampton away we had Mata and Schurrle starting instead of Willian and Oscar, both came off and the subs made an instant impact.

Hazard could be rested but I'd doubt it, hes in the form of his life for us and was the difference against Newcastle.

Don't know how official this is, but:

Hopefully Ramires starts instead of Lampard.

We need pace and patience tonight I reckon, WBA will sit in and try catch us on the break.

These last few weeks as soon as we go 2-0 I'm very confident we'll see out a game, couldnt say the same these last few years.

The old defensive displays are slowly coming back, which is evident by 8 clean sheets in 10 games or is it 9 in 11?

Anyway it makes for good reading.

If the above is the starting XI I'd be disappointed but it has enough to win you'd expect.

Bein Sports are showing all Premier League games this week. My guess is Chelsea will be on 11 with Keys and Grey

Would love to see Chelsea drop points but can't see it. They seem to have a bit of momentum now.

Hazard at 15/8 to score anytime the standout bet. Having some of that.

Every game is must win but if we can win before any of our rivals play it might put a bit of pressure on them all playing tomorrow.

I'm hoping we win and Arsenal draw as they've the trickiest game on paper.

Idont think we've beat WBA away in about 3/4 years either, I know AVB and RDM both lost their, as it was their last EPL games before being sacked. :pac:

Cech (c); Ivanovic, Cahill, D Luiz, Azpilicueta; Ramires, Matic; Willian, Oscar, Hazard; Eto’o.

Subs: Schwarzer, Cole, Mikel, Lampard, Schurrle, Salah, Torres.

Just came to post it, strongest XI out hoping to be a comfortable, injury free win.

Good to see torres back to some extent. Missed the Newcastle game so would like to see salah get a run out at some point.

Expecting a pretty tight affair, can't see Wbrom pushing many forward but hopefully it won't be like the West Ham game!

Foster; Reid, McAuley, Dawson, Ridgewell; Yacob; Amalfitano, Morrison, Brunt; Thievy, Berahino.

    Nice play by Eto'o.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

That looked a penalty, very clumsy by Ridgewell.

Wouldnt go that far but winning when you're not playing well is the sign of champions, as the cliche goes.

Arsenal aren't good enough and city are too soft. Chelsea will win ugly when they have to. He is some coach in fairness Jose is. I don't like him but he gets the best out of teams.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Now West Brom will have to attack more which will give us more opportunities on the break. Berahino and Thievy do look dangerous for them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

If we go 2-0 I can see us winning it without to much hassle.

Our defending has been good the last dozen games but the WBA pace could catch us out still.

Yeah they do look like they could get in behind us with the pace of the front two but we have been very comfortable defending. Luiz has already made his mistake but thankfully it was offside. Hopefully no more mistakes from him! Cahill is getting better game by game.

Already you can see we are going to get more chances on the counter.

Not conceeded a goal in 7 hours of football now.

    Cahill has been excellent again.

The commentator couldn't have put it better just now. Chelsea look to have the same resilience as they had under Mourinho's first time in charge, but with a little more flair now.
    Bang on IMO.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

We look a much better side with Matic in the team.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,996 ✭✭✭Duck Soup

I'd get Torres and Salah on about now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,829 ✭✭✭✭Panthro

    What was that yellow for?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

How is that a yellow card for Willian.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

    Torres coming on for Eto'o.
