Sat nav kaput?

    Hi,
    Hoping this is the correct forum, but I have a Garmin sat-nav, bought 15months ago. Just last week, it started acting up, skipping or stalling on a given route. Sometimes works ok, though...worth the expense of having it repaired or time to say adios?
    Problem started when I gave a loan of it to someone who ret'd it same day. Suspect that it may have fallen, but no way of knowing!
    Anyone out there who experienced similar skipping or stalling on their sat-nav?
    Any advice appreciated, thanks
